I'll keep it short. I'm in need of a set of bino straps. I have the S4 tether system for my range finder, and I know their bino straps get great reviews, but frankly it looks a bit bulky and heavy. I'm looking for simple and secure. Want to keep them tight to my chest with little sag (will be using Vortex Diamondback 8x42 if curious about the size bino's I'm using).

So what are you using? Recommendations are appreciated.

Don't order any brand of this type! The whole harness is made of the stretch material and will eventually sag and not keep your bino's tight against your body. Trust me, I know. I've had 3 pairs of these (different brands but same harness essentially).

I actually just received the Cabelas Hybrid Harness in the mail yesterday. I believe these won't sag over time due to the top straps being NON-STRETCH. The side straps still are the stretch material which make it easier to pull the binos up to your eyes. The kicker is that these cost about the same as the all stretch harnesses. I also have the Diamondback 8x42's and they aren't too heavy for this harness. Time will tell but these have to be better than the regular stretch harnesses.

Thanks, Donnie. That's the information I'm looking for. My dad has a nikon strap and it has stretched over time as well. That's my biggest concern. I'll give a look into that hybrid, and it would work out nicely as I have a ton of Cabela's bucks to burn. :D

I have been using this one since 2006. I only use binoculars when scouting though, they seldom come out of my bag in the tight stuff I hunt. I use the built in harness on my Muddy safety harness for my rangefinder but did use it once for my binoculars and it worked well.

I know Finch says he does not like them and maybe the newer ones are different. But mine has held up great. EVen when I took some 16x50's to SD in 2006. I use 8x42 now.

No, problem Matt. That's how I paid for mine.

Coop, I have used those Crooked Horn ones as well and they did sag over time. I get a lot of time in the woods and never hunt/scout without my Binos. Those will eventually sag over time. Glad to hear they are working for you though.

Here's the backside. They don't show this on the website.

These are hands down the most comfortable I have ever used. They are lightweight and hold the bumps tight to your chest.[IMG][IMG]

Maybe I got lucky since mine is old, maybe it was different elastic or something. Sagging would be a bummer so I don't blame you for not liking them if they did that.

I'm using the Badlands ones. I wouldn't say they are any better or worse than any of the others I've had over the years but I've got two seasons in them and they are holding up fine.
