I've always been a fan of Bill Winke and his writings, no nonsense approach to bowhunting whitetails. I've read his material for decades and now I am really enjoying his website, Midwestern Whitetails.com and his show Mid Western Whitetail ....the site has semi live hunts and videos streaming all the time, up to date action online and he always takes the time to share quality bowhunting, "how to" and "why" info with the followers. Check it out guys, if you like Bowhunt or Die here at Bh.com and the great job these guys do, I think you will like the Mid Western Whitetail format as well. Lots of great vid, info, week to week online.

I too like Winkie... A couple years back at a show without knowing it was him he and had a 15 minute conversation about a few topics.

I had no idea that it was him, didn't pay attention. Toward the end of our conversation I noticed a book lying on the table. I said "I didn't know Bill Winkie wrote a book about the Albia buck" , he than said, "I just finished it up.". I walked away thinking that was a nice guy.

I also am a huge fan of what he does. He writes some great articles and produces some great shows. I have been watching the show and always watching the online shows. It is nice being able to watch different states seasons progress.

Very cool guy. I like that he goes out of his way to teach people, and not just show his kills. Very knowledgable when it comes to food plots and land management .

His book about setting up a hunting bow should be owned by any of us that work on our own equipment too.

He lives 25 miles from me and he and some of his friends own some good ground that is well managed. I actually hosted one of his hunters this year and he took a 160" 9 pt. in November over a decoy. Nice website.

    Agreed!

It's the only hunting show I follow and "listen" to...he was hunting big bucks when it wasn't "cool"...his Main show on midwestwhitetails.com is fantastic! And - he puts the kids first during the youth seasons...love it!

I love his show that is on Sunday mornings. It is very informative and Bill seems like a humble guy.
The one question I find myself asking every week is "how big is his farm?". It seems every week I watch a couple more giants fall and Bill always makes some reference to the buck being on "his farm"

He has a 225, 218, 160, and 312. Mostly connected for a total of 915 acres. Plenty big and in the right area to produce some great bucks. The other thing that helps is having neighbors that are also following a management plan.

Not too long ago I read an article he wrote and he touched on "Location". He seems to be very down to earth and understand how lucky he is to have such properties to hunt.

Bill's a great guy and has been nothing but nice to me since the day I met him a few years ago. I really like what he's done with Midwest Whitetail and I still enjoy reading as much of his stuff as possible. If said it before, but he's one of the few outdoor writers with the true credentials to back up the things they write about. He's good people, no doubt. :tu:

I've followed his writing since my teen's. He is the only hunter I follow. Just picked up on his website these .last two years. Bill seems to be a simple, down to earth, family man. That is what I like about him.

Started watching his show Midwest Whitetail this past year and I was very Impressed. His show wasn't all about watching giant buck after buck fall, and wasn't full of non sense either. I seen some great bucks on his show but also he explains strategies and even management too. He has an all around great show.
