Will do Germ, the Explorer is helping my local economy and I know one of the best Mustang Tuners in the country.

There will be a better alternative to battery operated cars and that is when I will consider making the move. Until then I will live the American Dream and burn the Fossil.

    Either way were out 100,000,000

    what happen

A plant was built and people got jobs, if the means to end is to get Jobs, what is the difference?

When you walk into a Cabelas store who do you think paid for that store? Cabela's? No you did, the local and state goverments paid for those stores, with tax breaks and just giving them money.

Explain to me what is the difference between a plant built with Tax breaks and one built with tax dollars.

For the record I am for tax break model:alien: For sake of argument and a good debate, I want to know what the heck the difference will be.

    People got jobs
The state and local got new tax revenue.

The big difference is the lump some of cash

    Ok unwarp me

Besides your talking points, what is the fundmetal difference?

You want to bring a company into ILL, you offer them 100,000,000 in tax breaks, we in MI becasue we are a blue state, give them 100,000,000 to build their plant

    What is different?

Maybe this is a better way

What is the difference between a tax break and a tax expenditures for a project?

Use an engine plant as example

Ohio is going to give a package of 100,000,000 in tax break/incentives to a company to build their plant in Ohio.

Michigan say's will just give you 100,000,000 build your plant in MI

They both have the same deal, you must hire x number employess from certain counties and keep x number on the job. THe package is the same deal.

How much of an up-front, intial investment does the subsidy crowd have to come up with?

What are the taxpayers "out" if the subsidy is awarded?
How much are the taxpayers "out" if the company the subsidy is offered to, decides to build, elsewhere?

Is the subsidy "temporary" (ex.- property tax waiver)?

I'm in complete agreement here. I will never by another Chrysler or Government Motors vehicle again.

BTW there Germ, tell me, just how much of the tax payer dollars from the bailout is going to build the GM plant in Mexico? US tax dollars and US citizens who paid for it are not even going to be employed.

Now let's look at that wonderful Green Economy that was supposed to be in Spain. HMM... been a losing proposition there since the beginning, to the point that the Spanish Government is taking steps to disband the green initiative, just like Germany did. E85 is a joke, just like Ethanol it is impossible to produce enough corn to make it feasible, and that is if every farmer ditched there current crops to plant corn, every single ear of corn produced would have to go to Ethanol production and it still wouldn't be enough. We have enough natural gas and coal reserves to power this country for the next 250 years easy but the tree hugger eco weenies won't let them get. The current crop of Progressives in the Congress and Senate would rather initiate hyper inflation and destroy the economy so that they can say they did something. Don't believe me, just do a Google search on the Weimar Republic. You'll get all the answers you need to prove my point that there are still very, very hard economic times ahead even though His Highness Obama would have you believe that all will be well while he continues to bankrupt the country.

Yes conservation and alternative fuel sources must be found, but not at the cost of destroying the economy and most likely the greatest nation in the world in the process.

I would bet that many of the posters on here would agree with me that this country is so far left from where it was just twenty years that we may not even be the Greatest Nation in the world before long. If Obama and the Progressives get their way the USA will be a third world country before long.

If any of us on here were billionaires, would you appreciate other people telling you how to spend YOUR money.

If you want to invest your money and create more jobs that decision should also be made by you because it is your money.

Stay out of other peoples personal affairs and this economy might not be the mess it is today.

LOL, I was just thinking out loud, no one is telling anyone how to spend their money.

Jeff I will get back to your question it was a busy weekend, big sis turned 40.

I love how everyone assumes I am talking about E-85, there is a company in CA that can make crude oil from Bacteria, will this work? I don't know, but it's pretty cool.
