Probably have to go with Ron Artest. But you know, Larry Bird could be quite the ******* back in the day too.
But Artest doesn't exist anymore. He's now Metta World Peace or some bull hockey name like that. OK, he wins, but Bill Walton is still a butt head with a big opening.
What makes Metta World Peace an "A-Hole?" And please, no one bring up the "Malice at the Palace." That was like 10 years ago.
Was it inadvertent? No. Was it his intent to physically hurt Harden? No. I'm not defending what he did. It was dirty, and he deserved a suspension. His emotions got the best of him. To play devil's advocate, how are you supposed to react when you just dunk on three people and you feel somebody body you up? "Oh gees, sorry there, James!" He wanted to get him out of the way, but he didn't mean to elbow him in the head. James Harden has a tendency to be an instigator.
Pretty much sums it up! Meta world peace; should have changed his name to crap bag. I had a patient one time in Reno who did the electrical work at artest's sacremento mansion. He and I had an NBA discussion and artest's name was mentioned. He watched arrest shoot his dog in his backyard because it wouldn't quit barking. True story. Artest hates puppies and Jesus....
There are sooo many, too many to list! Reggie Miller had many special moments. Too bad so much great talent is wasted on such egotistical, narcissistic, over paid, ill-mannered, brats and thugs. There were some greats too on and off the court, John stockton, David Robinson, Carl Malone just to name a few, but the bad apples spoil the whole barrel for me.
And to the answer the OP's question, I would say Kevin Garnett. I have really only gotten to watch about the last 15 years or so of basketball, which is roughly an era, so I don't have a lot to go on.
