Hey guys, wanted to ask the knowledgable public before buying another sight housing. I recently bought a black gold ascent. I got it with the larger 2 in housing cause I thought it would help with my sight picture and shooting low light. My trouble is that because the sight housing is larger, I no longer can use the circular housing as a reference when shooting, also I can't see the level when my pins are centered. So there is some moving to get both. I shot today out to forty and had all kill shots, but it wasn't as comfortable as before cause I couldn't see the edges of the housing. I am thinking a larger peep will let me see the housing and be a cheap fix. My other option is to return the housing and get the regular size. Thanks guys. War Eagle!

Yes I would. Frankly visually I align the housing in the peep and then put the pin on the target and am real pleased with that sight picture. without the housing as a reference seems you would have just the pins and the peep and for me would be less precise. also not to mention inability to see the level though honestly I can't recall really referring to it.

To clarify, my sight is a 2 inch axiom. can't recall if my peep is 1/4 inch or 5/16ths but at the distance from the sight to peep to my eyes it lines up perfectly. I would keep your sight and get the peep that fits. and yes, it seems to me that a larger peep that lines up with a larger sight housing would help in low light.

I'd go with a larger peep. It'll clear up you sight picture and let more light in during darker shots.

I have the 2" housing and a 1/4" peep works for me.

I'd get the bigger peep as well. Definitely wanna be able to see level. Btw Black Gold makes a great sight. Pins are BRIGHT.

Thanks guys, and thinking of it now. Would extending my sight away from the riser also help?

I use a HHA Sight with the 2" housing and have a 3/16" peep and it aligns perfectly with the housing.
