It got up to 45 day before yesterday, but it's only 14 above right now. Those Minnesota temps sound a bit uncomfortable. 14 above is kind of nippy, but we do start whining when it gets into single digits. That's when I put on tights under my skirt. Wool skirt of course
Fitz, that looks almost like a week I spent in Crivitz, Wisconsin years ago bow hunting between Xmas and New Years. I think on Friday it finally got above zero. You could only stand about an hour out in that cold, and did you ever try to hold a metal handle on a compound ??? when it's like that !! I know one morning I woke up, looked at the thermometer and saw it was -36 degrees, I rolled over and went back to sleep !! by the way, did you guys do any good for deer hunting in Northern Wisconsin ? I never saw a deer !!!
February 2002 I was at Minot AFB in Northern North Dakota and the temperature was about -17 degrees Fahrenheit. I left there and went to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS for 2 weeks training. On the final day it was 32 with clear skies and calm winds so I wore my short sleeved uniform to the school house for our "graduation". You should have seen the faces of those southerners!
-23 was the coldest I saw today...did 3 different sits(and call) for about 30-40 minutes each and a few stop and howls for 15 minutes. Pinky and ring fingers on both hands numb within 15 minutes...tomorrow I bring my choppers. I reset one coyote trap and barely got it done wearing the fleece lined rubber gloves(which were unbelievably stiff for only being in that cold for a 10 minute walk in my vest pocket) before I couldn't feel any of my fingers. Early this morning before the winds picked up all I could here was the trees popping. BTW, the highest temp I saw was -2.... tomorrow is calling for a high of -4 and I'll be spending all day out there. Yippee!
It's amazing how fast a person can get used to the cold temperatures though. It's only December and already we are considering anything above zero to be a good day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Those are november temps up here lol. try -50 with winds at 35 knots, that'll put lead lead in your pencil lol.
