The man started his red Ford truck around 6:30 a.m. and went inside his home while it was warming up, police said. He then looked outside and noticed a man get out of a green Dodge pickup truck and jump into his truck. The Ford owner ran outside and jumped into the bed as it was leaving his driveway. He then called 911 and gave Lakewood police updates on his location. While police searched for truck, the thief crashed the Ford near West 1st Avenue and Lowell Street in Denver and fled, police said. The suspect then took off in the Dodge driven by an accomplice.
