As some of you know, Drake Taylor lost his silent battle with MOPD type 2 dwarfism and Moya Moya on Nov 28, 2012 at the age of 18. His family and friends have started a 501c3 non profit called Big Hearts Outdoors. Drake loved anything to do with the outdoors...fishing, camping, hunting, horseback riding, Special Olympics, you name it, he did it! Drake had many physical and learning challenges but they never slowed him down. Our best family activities were spending time together in the great outdoors. Our goal as an organization is to connect other special needs children and their families to the outdoors. We have always been humbled by the generous spirit of the hunting and outdoor industry. We want to share the many blessings that Drake experienced in his short time with us. We have found beautiful things happen if you give people an opportunity to help others in need! Our Summer Festival fundraising event for Big Hearts Outdoors is June 29, 2013 at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. We are planning a family fun event with children activities, live music, raffle, silent and live auctions and much, much more. We would like this to be a gathering for all those who enjoy the great outdoors and support passing on this passion to other special needs families. Visit www.bigheartsoutdoors.org for more information. So how can you help? We would LOVE for you ALL to come! Can't come but would like to support our mission? Please consider a donation of items for raffle/auction or money. We would love if you would forward the event information on your facebook to spread the word (visit facebook.com/bigheartsoutdoors to share our posts). Any support would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
I just talked to Art the other day about this and I will be sending a bunch of stuff for the raffle prizes and I will donate a 2014 spring turkey hunt in Minnesota. I will also cover the lodging while they are hunting.
Great cause, Thanks Tom! I will be donating a large canvas wrapped print of my choosing! Hope I can also make it down!
