Big Gar (Added taxidedrmy mount)

    A buddy of mine killed this big guy last summer in the Wabash river near Owensville IN. Its a staggering 64 1/4" long. He had it mounted. Sadly there is no record book for Gar in Indiana. What a beast.

    Monster longnose!! Biggest ive shot was 54"... Got a pass thru and the scales cut my 200lb spectra braid and off swam the gar with my $25 arrow hanging out its side. Sucks!

    Thanks Dan for putting this up. Hi guys first time on here. Just wanted to give some info. Shot this gar and only fish on a Sunday at 11:30 in the morning. After the shot took it home and called DNR for possible records and they said to get all pics and measurements we could.
    Length 64 1/4" long
    Gurth 20" around the body
    Weight 33.89 lbs
    All this means nothing cause they called me back and said we have no record book for bow fishing yet and since you shot it prior your fish will not be in the book at all.
    Thanks for all the comments. Memories will last forever on this one
