I forgot I left a trail camera behind my cabin. I checked it and there was 3 wolf pictures. After the wolves left the deer didn't come back for 3 days. Nice to know if I'm hunting and I don't see anything. Last weekend when I was here I found 2 dead deer in 400 yards of each other.
Dano, What kind of shape were the dead deer in? Whole? Partially eaten? Just a patch of hair and a couple bones?
cool pic Dan, sucks for scaring the deer in the area though if they are coming around on a regular basis.
That wolf looks exactly like a German Shepard. According to the WDNR web site, Canid Identification, wolves have straight tails. http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/er/mammals/wolf/identification.htm
I never really looked that close at the picture the first time. Looking closer, I would say that is definitely not a wolf. Like Greg said, the tail is a dead giveaway. Here's a couple wolf pics I have from Ontario for reference. Also, check out Mike's thread.....lots of wolf pics in here. http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?t=20361
I never thought about it being a german shepard. There is nobody with one around me. Here is the 3rd picture the tail looks different inthis one.
