I put the tape to him twice over very carefully, and both totals were 2/8" off, so I am going with the smaller one here. The taxi put him on the scale, and he weighed 214# field dressed. His neck was 33 inches around, the mount of this guy is going to be a brute to look at.

He grosses at 155 4/8", and after nearly 9" of deductions he nets 146 5/8", making him my first P&Y.:)

haha I have a feeling it will be a quite a few more years before I have another crack at something like this. My standards are still the same...if that 130" 8 pointer ventures by me Friday morning, I'm putting him down.

I got my first P&Y though, so I guess my next step is B&C???who knows it could happen one day...

Great buck Scott, even if he does put one helluva lot of pressure on me to beat you in our Jersey County challenge. You definately deserve him.

As I told you yesterday Many congrats.

Not that you're worried about it, but that's going to be a hard story and a hard buck to top. Congratulations!

Gr8atta2d You were right about hanging in there, and you have been hearing about my close calls of this year on the other site. My experiences this year and years past have made this buck so much more special. I said a few weeks ago after I rattled the 8 point in that I didn't know how much more my nerves could handle......well this guy sure had my heart pounding and knees shaking. And I would say the old man I was proud enough. I called him moments after I shot the buck, and he sat on the edge of his recliner until I pulled in the driveway at 9:45 waiting for the good news.

jmbuckhunter I will own you in this Jersey County challenge.....home field advantage I guess::cool:

mobow It was great to meet you too. The body of this buck isn't truly shown in the pictures. The picture below is the best one I have of it. I think you said it best..."that thing looks like a horse hanging there". And if John gets the buck you saw this morning, I'll be the first to run up the hill to help out on the drag.

Again everyone I appreciate the congrats and good wishes towards my dad (he has already waaaay better than what any doctor told us was possible, and continues to get stronger). This is my 12th season bowhunting, and I doubt I ever kill another deer that will mean as much to me as this one. Every time I look of him I am going to remember the heart breaks, the sleepless nights, the countless hours practicing, the hours of hard work put in over the years past, and of course the struggle that my family has went through over these last 6 months. Words really cannot express how pumped up I am about this buck.

I am off the next 4 days, so I am going to give it everything I got to put another bruiser down.
