A few years? The talent is here, just inexperienced. With the right coaching, I would expect immediate results. Vito, the other reason he didn't take the ND job...... is because they're friggin ND!! LOL Cobane -thinking he's not coming is likely wishful thinking. He lives a stone-throw from his future office. The word here is that it's done. It's a matter of timing the announcement, out of respect for the current staff & players. Of course nothing is official until it is, but where there's smoke...
Meyer is a slimy bastard. He does have a hot daughter though. I'll be curious to see if he can get any Florida recruits to join him up in Ohio.
Its pretty safe to say after the Nebraska/Michigan game Pelini won't be the next coach at tOSU, there would be rioting if tOSU hired him after that debacle. Congrats to Michigan, they came to play and the Huskers definitely did not. Rumor here is that we might be looking for a new coach anyway, he has burned some bridges and has a major issue on staff that may end up costing the entire staff their jobs. I would think that Bo is smart enough to not let that happen but we'll see.
He denied accepting the job and even interviewing for it. But when asked about it he says he'll have to consider it and will have a decision to make. If you read between the lines you can tell he really, really wants to coach again and he's definitely intrigued by, and interested in Ohio State. My gut tells me he will probably take it it offered, but I wont be surprised at all it he doesn't. One daughter goes to GA Tech, the other to Florida Gulf Coast and he's seen dozens of each of their volleyball games this year. His wife hates the cold and loves Gainesville and the south so its really hard to tell.If he does take it then I will become part Ohio State fan though.
He told a recruit god told him not to quit and come back and coach, and then he quit, lol. Tebow was not happy
He and his wife bought a home 5 minutes from the shoe before Tressel was ousted. Get your scarlet & gray gear ready!
11:50 p.m. EST, November 22, 2011 According to a Tuesday report by WKMG-TV, former University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer will take over as head coach at Ohio State University. According to the report, Meyer has "agreed in principle" to a seven-year, $40 million deal with the school. For more on the report, go to clickorlando.com Here's a copy/paste the Orlando news paper.... You ain't lyin' Bronson. They better take their best shot on Saturday. Lokks like it's back to business as usual after this one
A lady friend of mine from inside the athletic department says the offical announcement will be next week at the OSU-Duke game. She also said that he demanded the highest budget in NCAA, for his prospective staff. The rumor is that Spielman, Jon Tanuta (from NC) and possibly Kirk Herbsteit will be joing the staff, along with Luke Fickell and current WR coach, who was a part of his former FL staff.... not sure I can see Herby giving up the gig he has with ESPN, or Luke staying. It'll be intersting to see how this all unfolds (and scary for a lot of others ; )
I am hearing Chuck Heater as DC or DJ Durkin as DC. Greg Studwara for OC. Hooker should love losing Studwara... Also hearing Zack Smith as WR coach (Earl Bruce's grandson) Mickey Marotti (FL S&C coach) Not sure what position here. Stan Drayton moving from WR coach to RB coach. Taver Johnson possibly staying on staff, not sure as what though. Again, just what I am hearing.
Congrats to the tOSU boys, I'm happy for you. He'll be a great fit, sucks for the rest of the B1G. We'll probably be sucking hind teet for many years to come.
I really hope he stays.. just not sure if he will. What's your gut feeling, Scott? Drenman, you're not giving the Huskers enough credit. They're a power-house program, with a rich history/tradition. I think an adjustment period is to be expected. Bo will it get it straightened out... and sooner, rather than later, would be my guess.
