Well the summer hasn't treated Troy and the greatest so far this year as far as Trail cam pictures go. "The Farm", our local hunting spot has a few shooters to speak of so far, although it seems most shooters show up after Sept. 15 each year as bachelor groups start to break up. Our main target deer for this year is a deer we call Crash. He has a very unique rack with his main beams almost curling back towards his head. This deer is at least 4.5 yrs old as we have pictures of him from the last three yrs: Crash 2011 Crash 2012: There are a few other that if given the opportunity, may be hard to pass: Sputnig: View attachment 35987 Curly: "Property" deer are up next....
The "Property", which we just started hunting last year, is where Troy shot Rocky (can be seen on last yrs episode "Colorblind"). Although we just started hunting here, we feel there is a ton of potential on this piece of land. We have put in countless hours of work over the past two years planting over 20 acres of foodplots and improving habitat. Given time and a little TLC we really look forward to what the future holds for the "Property" Here are some of the Hitlisters we hope to get a crack at this year: Fabio: Geronimo: Lefty: Nanook: Sky Rocket: Spartacus: (A young fighter) Yeti: These deer we know were residents on the property last year as we have pictures of them all throughout the season. Sadly none of these deer have shown up yet on camera this year. We aren't to worried about it though. We know most made it past the gun seasons and have a feeling they are just in the valley's hanging close to water (which we stay away from all year). On the plus side we have a few new guys who have showed up that have piqued our interest and show great potential... (next post)
Here's a couple of the "new members" that may just get an opportunity for a induction to the "Wall of Fame" this fall. That's about it for Troy and I this year... Good Luck this fall, be safe!
Heavy hitter is what the neighbor called him 2 years ago. I'm just keeping it alive. I only have 2 acres of woods to hunt him in so I'm not changing his name. Tyler Rector BHOD prostaff
Here's another good one from our lease. We're undecided on a name at this time. I wanted to call him Edward Scissorack or Sebastian Bach but others disagreed. So we decided the first person to film him this fall gets naming rights.
