So my sons broke out my hunting clothes looking for some of their stuff. Usually I wouldn't worry, but I was gone for a week and they also cleaned some things in the garage, in 100 degree weather, in a closed garage. So my savannah suit isn't scent free anymore. Normally I'd throw it in the dryer on high for an hour or two, but my wife installed this bounce brand item in the dryer permanently, so that would make me smell, well, spring fresh. Any ideas? I've been thinking about just hanging under the pine tree out back for a coupe of days. Thoughts? R/ Doc
Could always hit the local laundromat for a wash and dry.... Just have to take some People and US Weekly magazines and hang out with the ladies!
I appreciate the thoughts. Somebody else PM'd me and I think what I'm gonna do is wash it in the scent-lok wash and hang it outside to dry. It's kinda funny really. They dumped everything out and when they were done the started putting the stuff back in the container, their stuff first Apparently there "wasn't enough room" so they left my savannah suit on top of the four wheeler. Surely I wasn't this hard on my dad when I was growing up Take Care, and Be Safe, Doc
I use hunters specialties scent away products, let them air dry outside, then seal in my scent blocker clothing bag.
One way that works pretty well is take your clothes and stick them in a garbage bag with leaves and little dirt
Seeing as it's scentlok, if you use it as part of your scent control system it needs to be reactivated in the dryer on high and then spray the outside with some kind of scent killing spray like Scentkiller or scent a way. Sounds like your dryer is out of the question. Soooo... The laundromat idea might just be your only option. If you want the place to yourself, walk in wearing camo and doe in heat scent. The place should clear out in about 5 seconds.
Using a rubbermaid container or similar, place all clothing inside with a box of baking soda (Arm and Hammer preferrably). I gurantee your clothes to be scent free after a couple weeks. With washing them there is alway residue from scented detergents left in the washer. When that residue gets into your clothes it is probably the hardest to get out. The only other way is to hang them in a wooded area for a few days preferrably during a rain and let them air dry. Then place them into a Rubbermaid container with baking soda to stay scent free.
Wash in baking soda leave them outside in a good rain and then air dry. mmmmmmmmmm the smell of scent free. wait..... how can you smell something scent free? nevermind.
