Hello I've been looking into getting a camera for filming my hunts and riding my quad. I really like the GoPro, Contour, or Drift cameras because of there durability, waterproofness, quality, and price point. The downsides to these cameras is that they all come with fisheye lenses which makes everything look distorted. Has anyone modded these or performed a lens change on these cameras before?

My GoPro 3+ lens is curved, not flat. If you have it set on wide, or superview it will certainly look fairly fisheye, but better than a true fisheye. If you put it on Medium or Narrow FOV, it looks pretty normal, not much distortion at all.

You can change the settings on the GoPros which will change the Field of View.

yea sorry i meant the housing is flat instead of curved like the hero2 which caused a ton of fisheye.

heres a shot in wide mode you can see it has a little curve but not enough to make it look like a fisheye.
