Yes, I will have 500 different thoughts on this, but what do you think the best trail camera is overall? Between picture quality, recovery time, battery life, range etc.

No cost considered, then a Reconyx.

If you start wanting to do it on a budget though, you will get 500 different thoughts.

I've had good luck with Primos and Cuddeback. Currently running 4 Coverts as well, and they seem to be doing ok.

I did not have good luck with Moultrie or Stealth Cam. Stealths were older models, but turned me off to their brand nonetheless.

This^^^^ as far as IR (2013 models). G42 Stealths are good for no flash.
There are literally a ton of good cams out there on the market though. Coverts are decent, don't really recommend the no flash Coverts but not terrible. I have one Bushnell that is better than decent but one that is also crap. Someday I'll try a Reconyx and the Browning cameras.
Right now my favorite since last year has been Moultries M-880's though.

We use moultrie and wildgame innovation and like both equally. The only one we have ever had problems with is a cuddeback. If anything I would definitely suggest to buy one that uses AA batteries instead C cell batteries.

Reconyx hands down. Other then that probably Browning and The new Stealth Cams. Bushnell is good too. 2014 Moultrie M-880 has insane fast recovery but the pics aren't the best when you zoom in, they're actually really bad.

Do yourself a favor a get a covert red 40 or black 60. Then put it on the same tree with any cam you own after a few weeks look at the pic counts and what your cam missed vs the covert then simply throw your cam in the trash. i have coverts running that I only Change batterys once a year. Try that with other cams
i am only a fan boy because I wasted my money on the other brands first.

I'm going to try this since I've been fairly displeased with my Mp8 black coverts.

For the most part black flash cams take poor night pics but they don't affect deer movement like red ir flash do. You can help your self by putting the cam on a post and put the cam facing the woods so the ir bounces off the trees and it will light up more area. I have better luck putting the cam just higher then 90 degree to the ground also.

No doubt Reconyx is the best on the market when money is not the factor. I own 4 Moultrie M80XDs and they take great pictures also. I currently have them for sale on Archerytalk cause I am looking to purchase 4 new Moultrie 900i off Walmart.com. This is the best deal on a black flash camera on the net.

I absolutely love my m-80 xd. Takes fantastic pics, and my last set of batteries lasted a year and a month. Moultries have some of the best night pictures for sure.

If you want the very best and money is not a factor, then go with the Reconyx. If money is a factor, these are the three I would recommend. Covert Red 40, Moultrie M880, and Stealtcam G42. Just my honest opinion.

    Blessings........Pastorjim

All I've ever used is Wildgame. Cheap, simple, and get the job done for me. Battery life is excellent too!

I have owned a bunch of brands over the years. The new Stealth Cams G Series are nice from what I have seen. Their older models, just stink IMO. Moultrie, never tried an M-880 and Probably won't just because I had an AWFUL experience with their customer service one time. Bushnell, decent cams but CS sucks from them as well. The best Camera's I've owned for the money, Covert and Wildgame. I know some will laugh on here about the wildgame cams...lol, but thats ok! That is just my experience with them. I would rather own a wildgame than a Moultrie or Bushnell. I really do wanna try one of the M-880's but can't bring myself to give that company any of my money again after the bad CS experience.

Right now, I have Coverts and Wildgame cams with great luck. I still run my old Stealth cam Core 3 some too. I have two Covert MP6 IR's that have been on the same tree's for two years now with no issues. Will by the new MP8 IR's this year too. Never tried the black model, but haven't had any bad experience with the IR's spooking the deer. I guess they have been on the same tree for long it don't bother them....lol. I have a 2012 Wildgame Red 6 that is going great too.
