I currently have 2 Wildgame Innovations IR4s and I am thinking about upgrading since over the past couple of years the technology has really improved. I'm sure that any new camera will be 10 times greater than what I have now but I want to know what you guys have to suggest. Thanks
Im a fan of the Coverts also, The CA 4.0s , are around $130.00. I have two of em and they take great photos. I really like the shape of them they hide easier and they fit right in my pocket.
You may get a Scoutguard SG565F for $139.99 (full color) and a SG560-8M for $149.99, both are Long Range cameras. If you want to see the effect of a Long Range camera, click the video below: http://www.chasingame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=31680 It does not even miss the detection of a mouse.
Moultrie M-100!!! 5.0mp, crystal clear, 2" viewing screen to preview pics. Trail cam, video, and plot mode. And this weekend I figured out at night it will even trigger with a deer 300' out. I walked across a field about 80-100 yds and it triggered. At night it will catch headlights moving down a road more then 1/2" mile away.. I can show you pics if you want. Its an awesome camera that I got at Gander on sale for $149
Ive had good luck with the Moultrie M-80. I used one all last season and I will be buying more before next season. If you can find it for less than $150 then I would snag it.
Sorry, but no. It may be getting you on camera 100 yards out, but it surely is not picking up movement that far away. More than likely something else walked by and triggered it while a different deer was that far out.
covert mp6 109.00 on amazon from wing supply if you sign up for amazon visa card you get 30.00 off total before shipping 79.00

I am a Reconyx guy till the end but I just sold one of the Reconyx so I could buy a couple more Moultrie M-80s (2012 model). I had a Moultrie stolen last Friday afternoon or sometime Saturday and it scared me half to death that one of my expensive Reconyx could end up in someone elses hands also. For the (new) price of one Reconyx I can have 3 Moultrie from Ebay at $125 each with shipping from a dealer. The batterylife is not at good on the Moultrie but I attribute that to only using 8 batteries vs 12 in the Reconyx. I think the pictures are very compareable and the video and sound recording of the Moultrie stands above all the other cameras. Keep in mind I have never owned a Covert and hear plenty of great news about them also.
Has Moultrie improved their cameras as of late? I purchased three of them in 2006, and mine were horrible. Everything from thousands of pictures of wind, poor battery performance, bad night pictures, and finally the units failed in their own ways, lcd screen malfunction etc. Maybe?????it is time to give them another try, actually no, I hated mine. Just my 2cents worth.
