This is precisely the problem I had with my Cudde and the reason I don't have it anymore. They are fast and take decent pics but I don't care how fast the trigger speed is when the sensor doesn't see the subject. It can't take a picture of what it doesn't see. If they would improve their sensing ability, they would have one of the top cameras out there. But instead they seem to want to invest in celebrity endorsements rather than their product. Blessings.....Pastorjim
i have to say the cuddes picture quality is amazing. but the main problem i have with what everybodys saying about them is the amount of pictures you get, ill be honest, after a week of anticipation waiting to go out and check your cam theres not a better feeling in the world then seeing you got 300 pictures. one of the main things i want is a low recovery time and the bushnell seems to fit that bill.
To those who say they dont get alot of pictures with the Cuddeback, i luckily never had that problem....must be in the luck of the draw or maybe the model.
I just saw that tonight. Of course I just bought 2 more of them 2 days ago, when they were $130. But we got them during the Cabela's Signature after party thing, so we only paid like $110 or something each.
Yup I picked up 2 this morning, looking back should have done 3 but that puts me up to 5 trail cameras for me, and 4 for my brother. We should be good for a while.
I don't own these but my brother has 2 Covert II and my dad has 2 Bushnell Trophy Cams, all are IR cams. So far so good with these as each has taken well over 7,000 to 8,000 pictures on one set of battery's so far. Price Is right around 175.00 I believe.
I picked up a BTC this spring and ran it most of the year, had great luck to start as long as I was careful about setup. As the year wore on I started getting some run aways on certain days and by the time I pulled it the first week of Nov the thing would trigger once and take pictures every 30 seconds till the card was full or the batteries died. I haven't done much research yet to see if there is a fix but it was frustrating. A friend of mine had the same issue with his BTC over around the same timeframe. I also have a Primos 60 and have had good luck with it although it is picky about the setup. Good picture quality, IRs seem to have good range, decent battery life. Obviously the Primos is only one season in, the real test is how long does it last. The cuddes that I've owned seem less touchy about setup but I have to agree with the other guys they have their issues. Out of the box I would put them up against anything on the market, long term they develop issues and the sensor tends to degrade. So far I'm yet to find a camera that I feel is truely worth the money that I spend. Make sure when you buy you buy from a reputable dealer that accepts returns.
I got two of the Primos truth cam 46 5.0 and I like them better than any other that I have used. They cost 139.99 when I bought mine at Academy.
Caleb is the only person I know that still likes Cuddebacks. Of the last 8 we have bought, they have been junk. Black pics at night, horrible IR pics, lack of pics, burning through batteries at an alarming rate.....the list goes on. For your price range, I would have to say the Primos cams or the DLC Covert II cams. Here's a blog I wrote about the DLC's. http://www.bowhunting.com/blog/post/DLC-Covert-II-Assasin-Trail-Camera-Review.aspx
Walt Larson and the outdoor channel crew still likes their cuddies though, they still really like their block targets too.
take a look at the scoutguards. you can find some of the sg550 in the 150 range. This is a compact camera. I am really impressed with the trigger speed. This is the first camera i have owned that I didn't have to put over a pile of food to get pictures.
I have a couple friends that have the scoutguards / coverts, and they really like them too. I think I am gonna buy a few of them next year. I like the size and the price, and from what I have seen...the quality of the pics and videos is pretty good.
This cam is as good as any out there at only 119.00 get one and try it then buy three more for the price of one of the others.wildgame x6c
I agree with you the primos are great cameras for the price. I was able to pick up two 35's for $70 each. Battery life is a little more then 2 months with about 4000 pics. But I like the Bushnells more and they cost double the price.
I plan on buying one of these overall best reviews ive seen just waiting for the moment where I cant hold back anymore or havent spent all my $ by the time I get to that section
have anybody heard of craigslist some people have been selling some scouting cams on there for low price i bought one for 35 bucks
