I am considering buying a new bow and I am wondering what time of the year can you get the best prices? I see some 2012 models have come out. When do the 2011 prices start going down or don't they? Does it vary by manufacturer?

    Any insight is appreciated.

I know one of the shops here where I live clearanced their bows (Hoyt, PSE) as soon as the new ones were announced. They literally have 0 bows in their store right now. Not sure about the other one yet. I would imagine since their was very little change with Mathews other than just a brand new flagship that they will not clearance their bows. Really no reason too unless a certain model was discontinued. The '11 models are exactly the same as the '12 models and I just don't think that is how they do business.

Just check with your shops weekly or if your buying online check every couple of days.

Start shopping right now prices on 11s and any older rigs are dropping also don't be afraid to ask for a lower price on 11 and older bows cause they'll wanna get em outta the shop

What i have found is like what others have said which is once they start getting the '12's into their shops they are willing to go a little lower on the price just to get them to move. So don't be afraid to ask them to come down a lil but don't completely low ball them. Good luck.
