What's generally the best time of year to buy a new flagship bow or other higher dollar accessories? Was originally going to wait until July or August to buy but will get something sooner if it saves me money.

I would say after the ATA show in January. All the new bows that haven't been released will be and many last year models will be sold due to people buying the new bows.

I say now is usually the best time to buy the last flagship bow. I have only bought 1 flagship bow but it was $1100 from release until about now then I bought it for $700 because the new ones were out.

I always found bows to be funny because they are never like $50 or $100 off. The flagships are either full price or heavily discounted.

I bought a year old display bow at this time a year ago. I saved about 35%. Bear in mind, it wasn't a flagship, but still an entry level premium bow.

Right now is a good time if you're looking for a 2016 model. Lots of guys unloading on ebay and archery talk for killer prices.

I don't think there is ever a bad time to buy a new bow. But I love changing bows and usually do once or twice a year :) . Go for the compound, you won't regret it. Nothing wrong with crossbows, I just find bows more fun to shoot.

I am looking for a 2016 NIP 60# Prime Rival in Elevate II. I have a black 2015 that I love and Prime changes their lineup after two years, so I am hoping to find one at a good discount. Seen a few dealers listing them on "sale", but nothing excellent yet in terms of a deal. Hopefully in the next month or so the right deal with come along.

I would say early Summer. A lot of the new release stuff isn't available until then and there is normally a wait on bows that have just been released.
