Depends on where I'm hunting but generally evenings in early season and more mornings as season progresses. Mostly because I don't want to wake up until there is some action.
Depends on where you are at. Some places are better in the morning than the afternoon. The public land I hunt the morning is better. The private property I hunt is better in the afternoon. Behind my house is better in the morning. Personally I prefer to hunt in the mornings. I love seeing the woods as they wake up and shooting at pesky squirrels come down from the trees. :D
People always say evenings in the early season, but I never see deer in the evenings. I always see them mornings in SW PA and NE OH. The last 4 deer I shot before November were on morning hunts.
mornings and mid day when the wanna-be's are walking in and out for lunch and moving deer... never had much luck in the late afternoon and evenings...
NC I like to hunt in the mornings mostly. Mid days if the moon is right. When the orange army comes out deer travel times seem to change to mid day. Thats when I move to mid day sits. They are usually from 10:00am ish to 3:30 ish. I have sat 10:00am- dark but, that being said I have only killed one deer in the afternoon. Most have fallen between first light and 10:30am.
