Spent most of the afternoon sitting at my sisters house just chatting with her and her kids and my little sister. You never know what to expect walking in to a situation like that. My sister is pretty much bed ridden so walk into her bedroom with my wife and she says hey ***** what's up? My sister replies I am doing just fine C--t. We had some laughs, good times.
got some leftover PBRs from last weekend. Deer steaks about to go in the air fryer ( was going to toss on the grill but it's pouring and the actually does steak really well) Also was absolutely dead nuts out to 120 with the MZ last weekend. Actually looking forward to hauling it out this year. Rifle hunting doesn't do it for me much anymore but that will be fun.
The other thing that was pretty cool about today my kids were there too just my son and daughter and we all were just chatting. My little sister was talking about her oldest son driving now. My kids both told my sister to have me teach him how to drift and drive and whip ****ties in the snow. Funny my wife did not know that I taught them to drift on the frozen lakes, then parking lots, then snow covered streets. They said what I taught them was useful.
no, not a one. But did find a wolf kill (or scavenge) that I am pretty sure was a decent buck but that half of the head was gone. neighbor guys from the North and South parcels both had trail cam pics of different bull elk in November/December. I would rather see that from a treestand in central 'Sconnie than shoot a 130" buck. One was a nice 5x6, the other a decent 2.5 yo rag. I would shoot that 5x6 on a DIY hunt out west in a heartbeat. I'll send them a reminder to send me pics, no cell signal up there last weekend which is not normal anymore. Oh, I had too many PBRs to think to take a picture of their picture.
Any beer that your father or grandfather drank back in the day and is still around today is a crappy hipster beer.
Friday night, asked the wife if she wanted to go out for dinner, nope dinner at home so we can drink and not worry about getting home and a fire in the fire pit. Life is good.
My mother-in-law has had almost a year to grieve and has made the decision to move out of the home where her husband passed. So, yesterday my wife and I went up and helped her pick out a lot in a nice new 55+ development and we picked out the plans for her new home. My wife stayed up in Des Moines with her last night and they are going to meet with the interior designer to pick out all the interior finishes today. I am excited for her to have something to look forward to and have a fresh surrounding. She is a really sweet lady and deserves the happiness.
Thanks Fletch for reminding me that my housing options in Florida are going to be expanding the end of May on my Birthday.
Old Mil tasted better warm but still sucked! Stroh's was like drinking battery acid. All those beers that were the working man's everyday beer pre1980's that have made a "comeback" are marketed around here as a "premium" beer with a premium price. It wasn't worth the price (5-6 tappers for a buck) back then. Sure not worth the 3-3.50 a bottle today.
naw, man. I bought those 2 30 packs of PBR for $12.99ea. 60 beers for $25. That's 41 cents per beer. High Life still runs for 6.99-4.99/12 pack, maybe $1 bottle in a bar.
I trimmed up an oak tree down by the lake there was a dead branch the went straight up it was about 8" in diameter. It now has this flat platform in the middle of the branches. I finally found the perfect place for the perfect message. The middle finger gnome holding the go away sign. It will face the lake to greet all the lookie loos that troll by.
