At least you found it !! I’m on my fourth one. Lost 3 so far. They just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. I think the one I have now cost 23$. Tried to talk her into getting a tattoo on finger instead. Bigger issues if I would loose that!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Qalo or similar are way to go and what I wear most of the time. But it was date night... was in my sock drawer which I checked first but missed it.
Actually the last one I lost was a Qalo. Not sure how it got pulled off my finger but I lost it while cutting brush and removing yard debris. I did really like that one. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter- Bitter: getting deer (2) back from the process0rs only to find that they didn't take the time to properly trim fat/silverskin - and they weren't cheap Sweet: damn is it nice to have good fresh venison filling the freezer after getting skunked last year
if it had only been one deer, I would have asked for forgiveness instead of permission... but 2 deer hanging in the kitchen would have put my ass living in the camper permanently. My next place will have an outbuilding with a processing area.
Dropping off some secret Santa gifts for some kids today I met through Habitat for Humanity. Nothing feels better than that for me right now. Knowing a parents relief, especially a single parent, will have something under the tree for the kiddos. Well I couldn't stop there, turkey and hams now on the way.
3 large onions, sliced 1 T olive oil 1 T butter 2T water. Heat pan, add oil, sauté onions till softened, add butter. Lower temp to med-low. Every four or five minutes give them a stir, till carmelized. Deglaze pan with water. Remove from pan. 2-3 apples dices 1T butter. Heat pan. Add butter, sauté apples till crisp/tender (just a bit of resistance, but not the snap). Remove from heat. Backstrap (I used 3 halves) Butterfly the backstrap, into a trifold... Imagine a lower case e looking from the end, with that horizontal line not fully cut through. Season inside of of backstrap with favorite rub or s&p. A bit on the outside too. Stuff with onions and apples. Truss to seal. Grill, till done. For me, it was about 1 minute to maybe 90 seconds 400ish degree grill, rolling 90 degrees each time, to sear each side. I removed from direct heat and let it stay in the grill for another minute or two (you can wrap on foil instead and skip this step)... But let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy. We had celery root mash, roasted sweet potatoes and green beans as sides
Picked up the roasts in town, will pick up the rest at the city grocery store for dinner, Christmas Eve Dinner. Going to be the best Christmas ever the family at the lake for Christmas.
so my dog has been garbage rooting and counter surfing lately. He's 7 and definitely knows better. So tonight, I set him up. Left 3 tailless shrimp (like shrimp cocktail) on a paper plate on the counter and went upstairs. Came down 15 minutes later and the plate was on the floor and the shrimp was gone. Repeat- with same results. Then, I dipped the the shrimp in spicy horseradish. He likes spicy stuff so I knew it wouldn't deter him from sneaking it. He couldn't resist and a few minutes later he wolfed them down, and immediately went into a sneezing fit. 10 minutes later he's still sneezing, drooling, moaning and rubbing his face on the carpet. I don't feel a bit bad about it. And don't get all PETA on me- this sumbitch has eaten lithium cell phone batteries before and he's none the worse for it.
