#1 son started working at a top financial service company today, working with one of, if not the largest brokerage team.

Watching Stevie Ray Vaghan and ZZ Top documentaries, with the volume cranked up high on the surround sound, yes wife it must be played loud.

Local grocery store has potato sausage this week, I googled it because I wanted to cook it properly. I had no idea potato sausage is so bad for you high in calories and sodium. Yeah it's dang good slathered in ketchup.

I remember when the kids would come home from college, was always so excited if there were any plans they were dropped when they said they were coming home. Always made a big Sunday dinner.

Son in law shot a big doe last 1/2 hour of the gun season, called me I went and helped track and gut and hang, delicious venison. Will hang and age it and trim it up. Pretty stoked.

I think I like processing a deer more than hunting them, trim all fat and silver skin off, age and trim. Then cooking it.

My venison medallions with cheese ravioli white sauce and grilled asparagus is pretty damn good. Some damn pesto olive with feta spread on crackers to keep you quiet while you smell the meat cooking.

My youngest is tough as heck. Spent 2 weeks in and out of the hospital the last 2 weeks with a port in her chest and her blood getting cycled and cleaned to help her immune system. Ended Friday. Spent Sunday morning crying in my bed wishing she could be with her team playing in the soccer tournament. Told her she needed to rest. Well yesterday she took the dog on a run and said she is ready to play soccer again. Today she is at practice. This kid is tough.

O.K. Sota-- this is perfect for the venison officiano ! take the whole back straps, cut in half, you will end up with 4 12 inch or so back straps, marinate for 12 hours or more with cranberry juice, olive oil and steak rub seasoning, drain and wipe dry meat, make a boat out of tinfoil for each strap, just big enough to pour in bacon grease, place all 4 straps in smoker, smoke at 225 for about 2 hours, 2 or 3 times during smoking paint bacon grease on top of each strap, make cheesey garlic mashed taters and sweet corn, enjoy !

Top tip...don't try to catch the casings being ejected.

In non pandemic years some friends have some target practice that also involves pumpkins and tannerite.
