So the wife and I have begun the process of selling the ranch. We have been procrastinating a little not that committed. I will be honest it will be emotional to drive away the last time. This is the place were we raised our kids so many memories. We were supposed to get another wagon full of hay the last couple of days but rain showers put that off. Last night my wife said why spend the $ on more hay I am going to sell the horses before winter. I thought to myself yeah right. She put the word out to her friends in the horse world that the horses, trailer, saddles etc were available. It was not an hour later after and people want her barrel horse she has it for sale for twice what she paid for him. The horse trailer surprisingly held it's value pretty well. I can not imagine what it will be like not to deal with chores morning and night and the expense.
We ate it for dinner, well at least my youngest daughter and I did. She actually asked me to make it because she is my venison eating monster. We got some rolls and ate a ton of it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Big time change but sounds like you all will be able to relax a bit more now. And that is always a good thing. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I talked to my son last night and explained to him that he will not be bow hunting this fall. He shot his bow once, he is getting married the end of September so he has little time to come up to practice. I did tell him I will get a slug barrel and a red dot scope for the gun I gave him. Last deer killed on the ranch will be a gun kill.
The smell of my great grandma' s kitchen. Been 40 years since she died but that wonderful smell is still locked into my brain.
Wow, big change. Its got to be a bit scary as well. Really hope it all goes smoothly and you land on a property that you'll enjoy just as much or more hopefully...with way less upkeep. I think we've all heard about how much you love the horses, so there's that at least. Does getting rid of this property mean you'll not hunt anymore, or is the new place going to be big enough to hunt? Just curious. I know you do a lot of boating and fishing too.
Moving to a lake place closer to my daughter. I was told I can put food plots where ever I want on their farm, so I will still be hunting and a lot more boating.
Less chores on the horizon, are you gonna deal with your hip pain or what... Spring rehab on a boat sounds dandy.
Got talked into taking the cortisone shot and that did not last long and you have to wait at least 6 months after the shot to do surgery. I want stem cells shot in there.
Actually the fising boat has a rod locker that acts like a step and the floor is all one level, 1 of the reasons I bought it, easy in and out.
Making it home after a long rough trip with a trailer full of sheep and guard dogs with everyone safe and sound! Never thought I'd count that as one of the best things in life but after that trip...whew...it is now. That trip sucked butt! Heavy rain, traffic and wrecks galore. The sheep and dogs were the easy parts of the trip.
