Nope, in these under certain times I adjusted my work expectations to the new normal for a few months and went way outside the job description I was hired for so that myself and others would not have to face pay cuts or layoffs.

Thursday just got home do not have to go back to work till Tuesday.

 

I shut down a high profile project today for security reasons and the fallout was epic. Went all the way to the top right before I logged off. Pretty sure I could here heads explode as I cracked open a beer.

I dropped and end of day bomb too... I'll wait till tomorrow to deal with the collateral damage. But regulators have wild and crazy expectations...which I got to point out... Ah. Have I told you I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks?

 

Oh yeah, the collateral is going to land in my lap tomorrow, but I have solid ground to stand on and I'll deal with it. Wish I was going on an elk hunt for 2 weeks though.

Early goose opening tomorrow.

 

Got to the Daughters house at 8 hung with the grandson for a bit then we went down to the farm. What a great feeling climbing in the side by side with my daughter and grandson riding thru the freshly mowed alfalfa to the fields edge. Walked the planted trail to the food plot, the clover is coming in good and there are hoof prints all over. Grandson crawled around while I put the cameras up. Life is good today I am one lucky son of a *****.

 

First kid sporting event since covid hell started. 3 day soccer tourney starts tonight for my youngest.

 

Picking up my wheeler at the dealer for some warranty work . It's a hr away so wife goes and we begin to talk about how much we miss our oldest. She turns to me and says" it's a 3 day weekend. We don't have much planned. How's seafood sound for lunch tomorrow? "
I concur enthusiastically. 2 hrs later we just finish grabbing bug out bag and getting animal sitter. I'll be in Maine in 8 hrs to see my girl

Even though its online to start, my son is back in school today like everyone else. First time in 2 years. I'm at work but my wife said he is extremely happy.

 

I assume he's doing markedly better (health wise) than last year.

 

We switched out to a new treatment a couple months ago and have seen good results. Not 100% better, but a lot better. Not sure how long it will work or what will happen, but he seems a lot healthier. Still lots more to accomplish.

 

That's just awesome brother
