My 10 year old yesterday, while just sitting on the couch together, says "I'm so lucky to have you as my dad". So said pretty much the same to back to him, then got up to "get a cup of water". That really stuck the landing.

Being a father (parent in general) is the only thing that's ever mattered in life.

Back in the day my son had a 3 hour drive to get home to hunt. I told him he could bring one of his friends home to hunt our honey holes. He said “ Nah, I’d rather hunt with you Dad.” Won’t ever forget that day.

I made it through this morning's partial shovel. The mail run and end of drives were brutal. Got drive from road to where truck was parked passable, not cleaned. Just finishing breakfast and coffee. Heating pad running on high.Illbe back out in an hour
    Stay safe all.

Almost finished plowing when the winch cable broke.

Finding the right size cable clamp in one of my dad's old tool boxes for the quick repair.

I had never rumaged through it since I brought it home from the farm. It was like he put it there for me to find.

That is so awesome, it is always very satisfying when you have what you need in a tool chest or a coffee can on a shelf. Having your Dad leave that for you is something that while can not be explained it defiantly means something.

Got a all clear on the cancer screening, 500 +% profit on a small liquidation, found a fantastic little Italian restaurant that on a Wednesday at 1pm still needed reservations or a 30 min wait. WAY worth the wait.
Had hubby and daughter with me and it was just a great day all around of laughs and good memories.

I am going to head out of the hotel and I am going to go sit my ass on that bench and have a few beers this morning as I watch the Manatee River flow into the gulf of America. My Mom's ashes are close by, I know she would not approve of me drinking beer in the morning but at least I visited.

Kicking myself for not bring a fishing rod, couple of casts would do me good. I prefer salt water fishing, it is easy and predictable.

Not so sure they say it is going to snow Sunday gulf effect snow, weather terriorists are full of it, the land is too warm and the moisture from the gulf is too salty to freeze and drop snow. it would have to flash freeze.

Good timing covers so many things when carrying a positive attitude. For me this one was market driven. That said yeppers covers snow and cold as well. Clean drive and access to birds in this deep freeze is a great thing.

I have not been down here since we emptied my parents place last year. I went to the neighborhood went to the local Publix and it was like I never left. I told my wife that before I am 70 we will have a place down here, I don't care if it is a trailer house as long it is on the water, only thing is that we keep the home in Minnesota, my wife differs with me on the lake house is not ours it is for the kids.

So hanging around waiting on a flight was sitting in a tavern in the Tampa airport, log to meet a Twin Cities radio personality, I remembered stuff from his shows in the 90's great guy. He was also an old time AWA wrestling fan, we bonded over that he took my number going to be introduced to an old wrestling historian.

Had my appointments with the ortho and the cancer doctor today.

All clear on the skin cancer, and released to resume normal activities as my hip will allow.
