Im hoping I can get him down to the spot to fish. And once there be safe. Haha. But September should be dynamite for him to catch a big one if the water conditions are right.

I finally won, I got the ski boat running the eve of the big party right at the last minute. Not sure exactly what I did, it was a combination of things. I can not explain the elation when it fired when I turned the key, I told my family I would get it done and somehow it worked out. Boats at 100% for the big weekend. I was prepared to go to the farm and get the old go fast boat out of storage if I had to watch it will rain all weekend.

What a hell of week dealing with retail thieves. Terrible...but guess what? Don't act too cocky stealing our stuff. Illinois pd just blew the doors off my theft crew suspects house and recovered a full truck load of stolen crap. Haha

Well I am glad I spent the time pulling my hair out getting the boat running. Burned 50 gallons of boat gas, the 3 person tube was destroyed but no injuries. Boat worked flawlessly. My mom put in her will that the dividends from her estate be spent on fun things so everyday that the boat provides days of fun I can only say thank you Mom the kids are having fun. I don't name boats but that boat is called Meems what the grandkids called my Mom.

    Rain.
We've been 3 wks with zero rain. It started this a.m. as a very gentle light rain. The last couple of hours. Hopefully it will continue to increase over a extended period of time. Temps now drop into seventies the next several days with more rains..fingers crossed.

We had rain for roughly the prior 2-3 weeks. One day without (last Friday), yesterday we were on a good run, but rain in the afternoon…the preceding month+, we had been in drought for 4-6 weeks.

Somewhere in between, for a stretch, would be wonderful.

Today I offered help to an elder, then let another in line ahead of me. Pretty normal things I do. But then I went out to load my car and leave. A complete stranger ran over to me with a branch of purple daisy's and said have a good day. She wasn't with either person I'd helped. Made my day.

I read an article online last week about checking out of hotels. I stay at Hilton hotels making reservations is so easy and they email me the receipt I just leave. Evidently housekeeping would like you to check out at the desk so they can get a head start on cleaning. I heard housekeeping out in the hall and I asked her if she would want a heads up when I leave she said that would be awesome. Make somebody's job easier this old dog learned something. I try to be a good guest I don't require daily service I don't eat or have debris left in my room.

Cure for shoplifters...put a pile of X-Lax brownies on the counter and let them take them.

Ive gotten to know some young kid at the grocery store. So happy for him as he has gotten new teeth. Poor kid must not have ever been taken to the dentist as kid. Man he looks like a new person and is a good looking kid! Makes me happy.

Back to back weeks with trips but I am getting home a day early got all my work done early. TVA plant in Gallatin TN they put a liner in a valley biggest lined cell I have ever seen 75 acres. Huge hole that will become a big hill. Those news stories of unlined coal ash disposal, TVA is moving millions of cubic feet of ash to a lined cell. They also are using the best pump on the planet for lined basins.

Coal (along with coal ash and slag) is getting some additional attention lately, seems like there may be some rare earth minerals retained. 75 ac may make for a valuable repository…
