When ever we get the call it starts Can the boys, goes no further yes right away. My oldest Grandson, his play is work always have to have projects lined up when he comes to stay. We are going to do some metal detecting this weekend, probably work on the boat. We need to change out the oil filter, add oil, replace the thermostat gasket. Good mix so far.

Sons family gave me 3 red bourbon turkey pults for mothers day. They hatched the same day my chicks hatched. I got them two days ago and so far so good. Eating and drinking well. Hoping they are 1 tom and two hens. Won't know for a while but I picked them out according to size of snood button they have now. Son got 2 out of same batch. Depending we can switch out so we both get at least one breeding pair.
I hope to be hatching turkey out next spring. For sale and our freezer. Though for the price these chicks are getting, they may just get sold. With a hen held back. They only lay well for 2-3 years and live 5.
    They are a beautiful bird.

When I was holed up in my hotel room constantly updating the status of my package going thru customs saw an e-mail from our insurance rep, first person to e-mail get 4 tickets to a Twins 12:30 day game. I love 12:30 baseball games during the week. I won 4 tickets was happy till I discovered where the tickets are, are you kidding me? Twins Champions Club tickets 4 rows behind the Twins dugout, deluxe high back seats, free food and drink in the club room, valet parking. Got to love that.

So exploring down by the swamp past the compost pile my grandson found a burrow dug into the hillside. Grandson figured it is a badger hole and we needed to get away from there. Guess who ordered a tanned badger hide with claws? The mean badger like the mean otter met their demise by grandpas bare hands. I sure hope my grandson doesn't talk crap and get me in a my grandpa is tougher than your grandpa fight.

So my tickets cover the make up rain delayed game and the regular scheduled game and we can get in at 10:45 and can eat and drink, funny I am bringing two of my firefighting buddies and my little sister. Told my boys we have to behave, they said follow your lead, yeah well at I have a sober cab. My motto "Don't you want to have fun?"

Holy crap sat front row right behind the Twins dugout, it drizzled most of the time but I was there with 2 of my best fire friends, my mentor and a man who I was there his first shift working fire for the forest service so I guess I mentored him. My mentor his physical ailments are worse than mine, my other buddy suffered a brain injury working fire. That man has busted his ass to get back thru physical and mental therapy, past 2 years I have stopped by to visit him at his house at least once a month and the progress has been slow but amazing. Guy went to work just another shift and was concussed so bad he has long term effects. We laughed today but the most important we spent time together and talked hugged each other and said I love you because we will always be there for each other.
I asked the men at the end of the day would you do it again, would you do it again knowing where we would end up broken and used up, zero hesitation us dumb bastards would do it again

Dock is going in today, the light will be going in as well. I am debating if I want to drive up to get fish food or order it. I looked on line at tractor supply at the feed and the website offered same day delivery if ordered before 2:00 that is a damn lie there is no same day delivery to Burtrum MN for anything ever, I can't even get a pizza delivered.

Dropped off my rig for a new string. I'm very happy that my chorin allowed for me to start bow season prep this early. Hell it's still turkey time over here.

The beast is in the water, my son skied today first time of the year. Will pull the boat tomorrow finish buffing and waxing and then back into storage. Never sits out more than it needs to. Boat is 35 years old has 489 hours on it averages to 13.8 hours of usage a year.

Phil Robertson passed today, while not a "Best" circumstance in life, I feel he served the world well and did great things for the outdoor enthusiast world.

R.I.P. Phil, you'll be missed by many...
