That is why you have a consultant look at different ways to have it managed and run. My dad wants the business to go on long after his death, never sold to a venture capital group I see employee owned as the only sustainable path.
I kinda have had a revelation on how lucky I am, I had 49 tests and procedures last year and I was full coverage no copay or bill after $5000, I could deduct the $5000 from my taxes and the milage to those appointments. Not bragging just like **** I had no idea people struggled like that, heck when my daughter had her first kid she was still on our insurance and paid nothing still on our insurance because she was under 26 she had her wisdom teeth removed too.
One thing we offered to our employees was first calendar day after first month of employment was full medical, dental, eye and life insurance free of charge for years, Obama care put and end of that. I do not pay for insurance but I get taxed on it.
On to a third interview with two different companies, that for whatever reason have coincided with each other out of nowhere. Not sure if that is a best thing in life, or stress. Ha
We will be finishing the sale of the family farm in another 3 weeks. It has been a long 4 years getting the estate settled.
Back in the work zone..sometimes to go forward you have to go backward. 15% raise. 4 weeks pto right out of the gate as compared to only 2 weeks at other job. Have some say over schedule. Work from home 1 day a week.
Another 5 quarts of Geek yogurt in the sous vide my third batch. That right there has paid for the sous vide machine. GEEZzzzz! I went to the grocery store yesterday. Your eggs may have come down, gas really came down, but WTH with dairy prices???? Actually typed that this morning, it's set and in. the fridg cooling down. Right out of water it looked like a block of white cheese in the jarit was so thick. Should be great when cold. I love thick tangy yogurt. Mixed with my homemade sugar free blue berry jam.
Cream went nuts way before DOGE, cheese doesn't seem too bad, milk came down then up a bit . That said hubby is addicted to icecream. I make my own non dairy sugar free " icecream" with the NInja creamy, which is so strangly "icecream" in texture. Anyhow icecream has gone up between 2 and 4 dollers a container over the last couple of months. Maybe it's the sugar they use?
Right now, it's looking like a M-F, but with the flexibility to change my schedule based on what I am observing in the retail theft world. Will be going from overseeing one store to about half dozen or so with this job. Little more investigatory and after the fact as opposed to the real time stops like my other job.
Backed the go fast boat in the water just to run it up to temperature so I could change the oil, fired right up. Got home told my wife the boat fired right up, she said I know I heard it from the patio. I love that rumble.
So it's a thing, I can not walk anywhere on our property witout picking rocks. Now because the Gator went flat with a gash in the tire. I've been especially diligent in my picking. This was on one of my trails. DANG SHARP TOO!
If you ever want to mess with the company that collects your garbage or your local landfill buy red garbage bags. I saw people freak out in a massive landfill yesterday a truck came in and dumped 1 single red bag shut it all down for an hour. Red bags are biohazard. Funny they freak out about a biohazard at a landfill.
Oldest grandson called me today while I was out of town working, he told me he saw stuff that needs working on at the lake when he was over for mothers day so he wants to stay over night Friday night and get started on the projects right away Saturday morning. Been a long week I could use a grandpa bootcamp where I get ordered around.
A day working with grandsons are an opportunity to provide life lessons and teach them to take pride in their work. Something that will carry them to success later in life. Cherish the time you have!
