Thanks it was just one of my normal freakish accidents. How strange to find I'd broken my nose. I suppose if it didn't bleed at the time I took it as a son of a bee that hurt and carried on. It clears a reason for sinus issue I've had on one side. So I'll take the whole incident as a win...lol
My Grandson put me in my place yesterday, He said grandpa you are not the boss at the lake, you just pay for everything. 5 year old pretty much summed it up.
Picking up my boat tomorrow. My son and his buddy their weekends are too busy so they decided to stay at my place and "work" from there this week. My son's friend said last night that the sking yesterday morning was worth making the trip, sking on perfect glass.
Picked up the boat yesterday, pleasant surprise a barefoot ski boom was included. Can't wait to watch my son face plant at 40 mph. I was tinkering tonight, filled with fuel. Have to take the boat to town to fill it. I did fire up the motor for a few seconds, had to make sure I had the sequence correct. Switches, gauges, buttons and it has a carburetor so you feather the throttle, and it purs. 351 Windsor 250 hp and the drivers seat is a cockpit.
Son and another guy decided that they figured that they could not be thrown from a tube behind the beast. They were wrong but to their credit the cover on the tube is shreaded, destroyed. Holy crap when you pull a skier, you do not pin the throttle 1/4 throttle will do. Pull a skier at 30 mph at 2700 rpm. Everybody loves the boat. Grandsons at breakfast asked me to take them for a rip down the lake, new tradition morning rips.
BLT and a cup of coffee watching the sun come up, turned on the fireplace and watched the lake steam. Woodies are starting to fly into the bay.
Best things in life... Got laid off in a role elimination/ staff reduction on 7/19 Found and started a new job (with first pay check) before severance ran out. Lots of support from family on things like my different schedule and getting all my munchkins to and from activities. A wife that works PRN as a nurse picking up extra shifts. Took a 20k cut in salary and now have worse benefits but have a stronger family!
Adversity often leads to a better life if we stick it out through the tough times. Sounds like your family knows how to live that out, best of luck to you.
Last night, in the pouring rain remnants of the hurricane, I got to watch my two older boys play on the field of my university alma mater and 2023 Division 2 National Champions for college football. The 7th grade team won 12-0, JV won 20-14. They both played great, my oldest got his name called over the PA when he made a drive-ending tackle on 4th down. On the last defensive play of the game, he got his first sack on a blitz for a four yard loss, again on 4th down. My youngest spent the entire game sprinting up and down the bleachers in between plays. He refused to wear a jacket and got absolutely soaked, loving every minute of it. When my wife asked if he wanted his jacket he told her, “I don’t need a jacket, I am tougher than you.” Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
My chainsaw died last week just quit running. I have owned 4 husky chainsaws never replaced a spark plug everyone that just quit running were done never ran again. I took apart the saw and inspected all the simple connections. I bought a new spark plug and a can of carb cleaner and blasted the inside of the shroud. Put it together and it started second pull. Got some saw work to do this weekend.
I had no idea that there was such a thing as a compost or peat moss walk behind spreader, I also can not believe I am excited about a new lawn utensil but it will be lawn changing.
