Takes a 2-1/2 hour drive to find a suitable place to live here in Minnesota, at least by my standards.

Darn MN wasn't on my list of ideal locations [/sarcasm].

No desire to retire amongst snow nor black flies.

Darn, that may wipe a whole lot of Yankee and blue states off the list. [/sarcasm].

I ponder things like that buying the new my family compound do I buy it in a trust to avoid estate taxes so in 20 years it is affordable for the kids to keep when I go into assisted care if I am still healthy and working.

When you put a flame to a tick and they swell up and blast off. That pop is pretty satisfying too.

Permethrin on the clothes. Deet on the skin. A good shower when done.

Yes, I have an outfit I soak in Sawyer's I normally wear when I am out there but this was an unexpected visit and a lesson learned.

You really should have gotten a Packers and Vikings hat, laid them side by side, and let him decide his fate

I can not risk him making a choice at 6 months of age that will have an effect on the rest of his life. Plus there is no way in hell am I going to order a viking hat online and then have to watch the pop up viking ads on my lap top

Poor little guy? How about all the little guy's hopes and dreams the vikings have crushed since 1961? My son has a witty reply when asked how his dad could raise a kid in Minnesota as a Packer fan. I have touched a Lombardi, Have you?

Heck most of the guys on here seem to be from IL... They have no idea what years and decades of crushed dreams are. *cough* Cubs *cough* Chicago *cough* JB *cough*...

Cub fans were a lot more likable before they won a Series, now they are like the rest of the richard cranium Chicago fans.
