All day smoke on an 11 pound pork shoulder. Pay no mind to the number 12 Griswold. That was just to hold it all.
This could belong in the rant thread too but I’m on vacation so it’s ok. 115 degrees at the pool party for 5 hours today down only $400 after day 1. Morale is borderline high. Love Las Vegas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Seeing the smile and hearing the giggles of my 11 year old grand daughter as she learns how to cast and use spinning reel to catch bluegills out of our pond. She and papa had one of those proud moments in life!
I really missed leaning on the garage door looking out and watching the sun set while having a beer. This spring I burned 25 yard strip from the bay to a flower garden. The slope is pretty steep goes up 10 feet in about 20 feet. I burned it upslope right when the brush leaves were opening up, burned hot enough to crack the cambrium killed the brush. I can lean on the side door and watch the herron spot and stalk in the morning, and the baby woodies chirp when they feed, really helps me recharge.
One of these 3 little boogers will be coming home with me in a few weeks. Very impressed they were pointing a wing at only 5 weeks old. The best part will be surprising the kids. Can not wait to see the look on their faces!
First and 3rd choice is a female, second choice is a male. I dont mind either way. The stud of these pups was a smaller male which i like i didnt want a huge male. Champion blood lines so im pretty excited. Going to start doing my homework on master hunt test training.
We hunted N. Colorado for nearly a week for elk. Several great encounters, but the week was coming to an end. We had a day and a half left and out buddy texted us "Moose down"...he had connected on his Shiras in his native state. It was decision time...keep hunting or drive several hours to lend a hand. It was unanamous and we were on our way to help. We meet our friend headed out after hours of breaking the beast down, he was spent and headed for a shower, with the plan to pack the remainder the next day. He and 2 friends had already packed the loose meat and choice cuts, with the quarters and caped skull remaining. With some loose direction ( head down this trail then follow along the meadows, down into this valley about 3/4-1 mile, till you find my glove and cross the meadows and you'll find the moose) we head in to start packing the fronts. I snapped the pic below of my buddy as we crossed the meadow...it's one of our favs to this day. The leg on my quarter was bent and not towering over me, like my buddy. A heavy pack, helping a friend, the end of our season...we were treated to moose backstrap steaks, eggs and potatoes cooked over the fire the next morning...we then packed the rest. Moose is awesome! It's heavy (especially rear quarters). There is a lot of meat, even on a Colorado Shiras. I got to bring home the heart as my buddy wasn't going to keep it...about the size/weight of a small bowling ball. It was a memorable experience when the TSA agent stopped to question what was in my back pack h
Great weekend training with my team at SDC in Ottawa IL. 29 jumps over three days. We have a lot of work to do but it’s all fun. Grateful for the opportunity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Moose is my favorite as well. My dad killed one last year, I brought home a cooler full of meat when visited them a few weeks ago.
