So simple, reliable and still around 70 years later. These days you have to hook up scanners and spend hundreds on simple parts while waiting 2 weeks on them to come in. Tractors so old parts are scarce, but plenty of people out there that can make or repair the existing parts.
There is one more tractor. It has been sitting for 30 some years outside. An International H with a wide front. It was our hay mowing tractor when we were kids/teens. I asked the two sisters and brother how much money out of their 1/5th could I use to get it running. I am 2 for 2 on getting the tractors going. They all said, " Tim, NO !!!! ".
A while back I mentioned my son was going to rep his school at the physician assistant conference in Indy, in the quiz bowl. Of the about 60 schools they made it to quarter finals. Also proud my baby girl is wrapping up her last courses at NCSU this summer. Technically will graduate in the winter, just has some elective credits to complete. Both sporting 4.0 grades.
First Friday of the year I will drive home change into shorts throw some beer in a cooler grab the wife and the chihuahua and head for some pontoon therapy.
First day of the year that I will head home, load the cooler and hook-up the mastercraft! wait for my wife to get off and head to the lake for a long deserved week. Hopefully my grown boys will be out there and ready for this fat man to pull them slalom sking!
One of my dads favorite songs and the one we picked for his funeral. Great tune. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My oldest son was picked for the Allstar team. Tournament in three weeks. My middle son didn’t make the cut, but he has had a great attitude after the initial disappointment wore off. He is outside this afternoon letting my oldest pitch to him and giving him ground ball practice.
My older son plays part-time travel ball with a group of kids and coaches he's been with since tee-ball. He's still 9 and could be playing on the 9U team, but plays up with the 10U kids. He hit his first real over-the-fence home run this weekend in a tournament game, which was pretty awesome. Almost had another one but it hit off the top of the fence to straight center. The kid has way more power than I ever did. They ended up taking 2nd in the tournament, which is a hell of an accomplishment for this group of young, undersized kids in their 2nd year of travel ball who were seeded last going into Day 2. Getting our kids involved in youth sports has been one of the best things we've done as parents.
My youngest just finished 8th grade. Straight As for 3 years in middle school. She went through a lot during that time and maintained. Proud as heck.
Along those lines, if you haven’t already scoped out the scene, I have heard good feedback from a friend on STL children’s hospital. Hopefully you won’t need that tidbit…
Me either. She has really improved and we hope we got to her problems fast enough that she will thrive. She has really turned the corner the past year. My son on the other hand, that is another story. I appreciate the info.
The project boat I bought for $100 a few years back....Sold will more than cover the cost of the new motor for the ski boat, and the ski boat will be ready to roll when the son and his buddies show up on Thursday.
So I learned this today… the lyrics to “money for nothing” by dire straights were inspired by appliance deliverymen. Mark knoffper was waiting on his guitar to get repaired and walked to the appliance store next door to pass the time. While he was there he came up on several delivery appliance delivery guys who worked at the store who were standing in front of a television set that was playing mtv and commentating on the difficulty of their jobs compared to the musicians on mtv. That song makes sooo much more sense now.
Backing up to the garage with the new to me motor, just a little wiring, tach, tilt gauge, fuel gauge, convert to mariner wiring. Back in business this weekend is going to be a big time my son bringing 10 friends, water skiing and tubing, party bus to the concert Saturday night. Can't wait till the F'ers leave on Sunday.
I finished up wiring last night, was kinda ballsey I did not temp any wiring. I hooked up the battery, boom tilt trim works perfectly, turned the key and it fired right up. Taking off at noon today to zip tie cables and get the boat in the water and take my son sking. Been a long week from picking up the motor Monday night till turning the key last night. The things you do for your kids.
