I spent half the afternoon with my 11year old Granddaughter and her Mom (my Daughter) picking out her first bow. Should have seen the grin on her face. She shot a PSE Mini burner and a Diamond Prism. Shot quite a few arrows with both and picked the PSE as her choice. She skipped through the parking lot carrying her new bow back to the car. What a day this was. Now Grandpa has a standing date with her to shoot on Monday afternoons.
I gotta hand it to the Archery tech at Scheels. Just a young pup I wouldn’t think was even through with high school. He turned out to be very knowledgeable and patient with my Granddaughter teaching her the basics of how to shoot. He spent a good hour setting up the bows to fit her and shooting with her. There were several other customers that showed up with bows to get help and they all stood patiently while watching her shoot. It amazed me. I told them I was sorry they had to wait so long but each one said it was no problem. They all understood what this meant to her. My daughter said afterward how surprised she was that every guy there was giving the Granddaughter tips on equipment and shooting while the tech was working on the bows. Young and old they all were behind getting her going in archery. Life is GOOD!
woke up to shunshine for the first time in seems like 2 weeks, mild temps. Let the dog out and heard red wing blackbirds and noticed the rose bushes and the cherry tree are tipping. Hopefully the grass wakes up this week, need to figure out where the thin spots are going to be so I can seed.
I made mini pizzas yesterday. If you have never had a sour cream and cheese pizza treat yourself. I also put sausage on a few and that was damn good too.
It is baseball season again. All three of my boys had their first games of the season last night. My youngest had fun in teeball. My older boys dominated their game winning 13 to 1. Easton went 3 for 3 with a triple, IPHR, and a double and 4 RBIs. Playing SS he threw out two kids at first. He came into pitch to close out the game. Struck out the first two batters on six pitches, walked the third batter then picked off the third batter to end the game. Blake went 2 for 2 with base hits and 2 RBIs. He played first, caught a pop fly, made several outs, including the tag on the pick off that ended the game.
Both, but the socks do not have stirrups. I haven't seen socks like that in stores at any point in the last several years since my boys started playing. I have taught them how to wear the pants with the socks showing in the classical style. But, they both prefer the long pants look.
If you want or need something to cheer you up or give you an awh moment go to "Kotsumet" otters YouTube videos. I 've watched them since they were babies. Just an awesome little critter to watch as a pet. Great fun watching wild ones no doubt, that said, their personality in captivity is different.
This may not be a best thing in life for most people, but I made it one year without having a drop of alcohol today. Not like I had a problem or anything but the burden I had at work, living arrangement, and my kids health made it where I had to be on point every day and didn't have a desire to be anything other than ready to go case of an emergency, sleep be damned. This weekend my buddies are flying in from all around the country to meet up for the 1st time in 3 years. Some beers will be drank.
Your choice nothing wrong with an occational drink . That said having not drank in a year go very slow because it may hit you harder than you may expect. Enjoy your meet up with friends.
I was burning a pile last Saturday when I saw an otter go bouncing by, he got to the open ice and every third step he would slide on his belly, they seem to always be having fun. The otters live on the island on the bay 30 yards off my point I see them more in the winter than summer, have never seen babies.
