The soil is still cool under the top 4 inches of soil. Today's and yesterday's temps were in low 70's. I routinely plant peas before April 1. All these seeds do better in cool soils and can handle frosts and even a freeze. . The cold will just delay sprouting on a few of them. The greens on all except lettuce can handle the lower temps so those nights they'll get covered. Oh radishes was the other thing I planted. It's planted in one block of garden. Oh all my garlic is coming up from last falls planting. I use the blk. Garden fabric so no mulch was needed with them. The last few years we've jumped right into summer type temps so I've had to rely on fall plantings. My favorite greens just would not germinate in the warm temps, spinach being one. Radish are notorious for bolting in warm spring temps.
So no idea? Was taught no point in soil work till 55 degrees. understand cool season plants but the fertilizer does not work till 55 degrees.

My kids were crazed over it...me cleaning EVERYTHING and they refused to hug me for over a year and refused to sit near me even in the car. I had to sleep on the couch until we were all positive I'd killed them.

Having a great 6 mile walk. Last 1/4 mile it starts a light sprinkle. I get to porch and before I can get both feet on porch the sky opens and a deluge starts. Literally like our place was tossed under a cosmic waterfall. What perfect timing love it!
Oh. Sure sign springs getting a great foot hold. We had our first rip roaring shake the entire house thunder boomer last night. It was a doozy with long rolling thunder ending in "sonic booms" right over the house.
45 degrees in central Minnesota today, we are grilling steak and shrimp for supper. Grandsons are here life is good.
Not sure if he had cornered a rat or something, but this guy was bouncing around this row of carts and let me get to within 5' of him. Not sure if it was a BTIL but it was pretty cool.
