Went to the supper club for dinner with the wife. It was OK not bad but not that good. So Dinner wife had some Corona I had a cocktail, bill was $37. Our go to is still the Rock Tavern once owned by Paul Ellering, he lives up here.
I did not go to the salad bar that was included with my sirloin tip dinner, she had a burger. Pretty cheap, but it has to be up here. My Jameson and Ginger was $5 that is average cocktail price around here.
Metals project from 32-33 years ago. Sand mold, aluminum pour. Taped off and painted but yellow from feet bled through the tape.
Mr Crummy my high school metals shop teacher took great pride in providing the aluminum cans for the forge.
I hate the carry out because food quality is compromised by the time you get home, granted drive time is a bit longer out here.
Dang worth going out there just to have a few dinners! I took daughter out to lunch a few times last year just one drink each 80 and 90 dollar range including tip...and I'm limited what I can eat so definitely no desert.
They still have full fish gets out here for under 10.00 . ....ooops! grabbed the penny saver to check that 12.99 now and 9.00 for a whole sub. THAT just made me realize...they took the dinners pages out no more restaurant ads. Makes me wonder how many are left.
I actually enjoy shovelling our 300ft drive by hand....with 2ft due over the next couple of days. That said...as long as we get above the -1 we had this morning going up to 20 they.
I use to go around and shovel my elderly neighbors drives. I'd get up before light or if it was really bad go out in the middle of the night to at least get the plow dammed end of drives should they have a medical emergency. I no longer have elderly neighbors...I refuse to become that elderly neighbor.
I went into town to the hardware store, the hardware store usually has some guys sitting around bullshitting. I walked in and 3 guys greeted me by name, I think I am almost accepted, still an outsider but at least they don't look at me like I am some citidiot.
did take out last nite from our local "high end" restaurant, had a "surf & turf" burger, 8oz filet Mignon burger topped with mozzarella with a 2oz crab cake with cheesy bearnaise on top off a toasted Brioche roll, medium rare, was awesome, ordered jalapeno poppers as appetizer, they stuff them with spicy tuna, crab and shrimp, tempura fried with spicy mayo with crunches?and eel sauce. 3 take out meals with 2 desserts... $120 without tip. Best part of all, paid for by gift card...and still have enough balance on card to cover my bar bill next time we go..
If y'all ever find yourselves on the outskirts of Charlotte, you'll want to check out Smoke Pit. 3 entrees, that fed us for 6 meals. $60 and damn good food...
Imagine the juiciest, most flavorful, and most tender piece of meat you've ever had and multiply it by 10 and this is what you get. Best piece of meat I've ever had I think (backstrap). Marinated in Worcestershire and garlic for a few hours. Grilled each side on 500 degrees for 8 minutes a side. Wrap in foil and a towel and let sit for 10min. Liberally put traeger blackened saskatchewan rub on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
