We've had a very hot, inconsistently damp and balmy summer. Lots of mildew, moss, and the like... Lawns a wreck too... I'll probably dump a good bit of lime on it and try to fill the lean spots this fall. Pretty sure I've lost my apple trees this year too.

Finally cooling off, I started spraying weeds in the lawn last Sunday, the bags of weed and feed didn't do crap. I need to put down lime, some black dirt, seed and fertilizer. Finally looks like it may cool down and get wetter.

My truck has mud on it, puddles all over putting a good dent in the drought this week. Too bad it is too late for the farmers.

Not really to late Sota, it will certainly help the sugarbeets and mostly the ranchers.
Still pouring here. No wind, just awesome.
A bit over 3 inches this week.

Well the grains are screwed. Watch the farmers will be stuck in mud trying to harvest the crap crop in the fields.

Potlatchdeltic, who own a ton of land in Idaho and more importantly where I archery elk hunt, have had their land completely shut down for fire danger for a couple of months. Can't even walk on it.
My archery season has been at risk because it would greatly limit the area we could hunt as well as making everyone else have to hunt the same State ground, which there isn't a whole lot of.
They just announced that they are opening access back up as of today.
Thank you cooler weather and the bit of rain we've gotten! Archery elk is a full GO!

Can anyone find/post the video of the young gal drumming for the Foo Fighters, Nandi Bushell?
    It's so awesome.

So I drove the truck and trailer over to the landing was going to load up the boat but the grandson woke up from his nap. We went up in the loft and out of the toy closet came the hot wheel case. My wife saved some of the kid's toys she had the big case like a suitcase full of hot wheels. The look on that boys face with the case full was opened was priceless. We moved on to jumping and playing in puddles since. Last Friday of the summer with the grandson my wife is back at school next week, but it was a nice summer with him on Fridays.

My nephew is a senior. He only played like 3 games his Sophomore and Junior years. Both shoulders tore bc they were formed wrong. Doc fixed them up and he is full go and they are strong as hell. He plays his first game this year and he scores on a 20 yd reception on the opening drive. Kid is like 6'4" 220 lbs and can run. Strong as hell. If he can stay healthy he will have some options. I didnt realize til last night that his team has one of the elite TE recruits in the country on it. My nephew will get some free press from that alone. Kid has worked so hard his entire life as a great student and athlete. I just hope he gets a chance at the next level. He has the body and speed.

5.6" of rain now since it started late last week. Missed 50-80mph winds Saturday evening by a mere 8 miles as tornado warnings swept through southern MN. The area that got hit the hardest was one of the best looking areas I've seen in the state besides extreme SE MN and now the majority of their corn is laying flat and has no chance of standing back up. Corn harvest will be a nightmare for a lot of guys now this fall.

Damn big hail reports up that way. Sad to see after all the time, effort and money put in, even if it would only be an insurance level crop.
