Went to an auction this morning. When I saw the auction bill I knew I had to have the antique liquor cabinet with the roll top door. I wanted it I waited 2 hours when the $ got up there and another bid came in I did not hesitate to up the bid. Sweetest part of winning the auctioneer said sold to the man in a Packer sweatshirt and I got booed by the crowd.
It was made by the National Ticket Case Company, it used to hold train tickets. It doesn't have a date but is is old. It was in the soo line ticket office in Minneapolis says the writing on the back.
I don't know why exactly, but this is my all-time favorite scene from Letterkenny. I laugh out loud every time I see it.
A few days of vacation was a good break. It was the first vacation, my wife and I have taken without kids in nearly 30 yrs...
Yeah we had a front come thru Friday night got 7/10" of rain Friday night. Saturday was cloudy and windy high of 72.
Good for you, I would rant about this in the rant thread, however, I will probably melt and die of dehydration first.
That's a neat cabinet, Sota! I go to an auction house every now and again. I didn't get as cool of a find as yours - but everyone leaves by the time the big furniture comes out. I got an old style solid oak entertainment cabinet with the built in speakers for $2. My Dad is currently in the process of converting it for their house. Gave him a project.
My sons first day of in person school in 3 years tomorrow. I hope his immune system holds up and he can make it. Ptsd tells me to brace for the worst unless proven otherwise. Best things in life if he can make it.
RAIN!! It feels like we haven't had a storm/rain like this since May. More rain in the forecast as well. We likely need 5-6+ inches to get us anywhere close to helping with the drought we've been in.
Didn't rain this summer when we needed it to actually make a good crop but at least we're getting some rain now to fill whatever few pods are on the beans and more importantly help the pastures, fall tillage and help replenish soil moisture. We're at 1.9" so far since Saturday. I'd have to look but that's about as much as we've gotten total all summer.
We had that problem this year until recent. Our pastures took a beating. We ended up making a well from our pond (husband dug it deeper - hit natural springs - and it's now 15+ foot deep), ran that to the barn for water, then started using a sprinkler on everything. Added nitrogen and threw in more seed. They're still rough, but slowly coming back.
