Just had a doe and her fawn walk 10 feet from my window while viewing the forum. I couldn't move to retrieve my phone without spooking them. I wish I could have gotten a picture.
the main is still good. I was lucky in that in landed right next to the DZ in a bean field. I watched it land while I was on final approach. Could have been worse landing out in the woods up in a tree etc etc. Helmet Mounted GoPro Hero 9.
Tomorrow for lunch will be my first tomato with bacon sandwich of 2021. Vine ripened home grown tomatoes are the best.
Friends with connections. Going to see Garth at Arrowhead tomorrow night. Free tickets and good seats. Saw him some time around 97 in Knoxville and we were so far back, Garth looked to be about an inch tall. He did put on one hell of a show tho. I wouldn't call myself a huge fan, but I couldn't turn it down. Should be a good time with good friends. Sent from my SM-G781V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Today I finished the last planting of my 2021 garden. Lettuce, cukes, kale, bunching onions, spinach, zucchini, radish, Swiss chard, broccoli trans plants. I only ha v e t h e October garlic to plant and I harvested my garlic yesterday.
It is a rainy Saturday morning, it rained last night, a long duration rain event. We have not had one of those all summer long. Kinda sucks when I planned on making steak, walleye and shrimp for the wife's birthday. When we woke up I said how about a poke I have never been with a 55 year old woman, as you can imagine my advances were rejected even when said we could cut cards for it.
Yes he does, and I’ve always liked a lot of his earlier music, but as someone I know once said, he is such a drama queen.
Cutting big oak and handsplitting is hard work but for me it's kinda therapeutic. Just feels good seeing the pile grow. And since I tend to hunt late season, walking into my cabin at the end of the day to wood heat is the bomb. Today's project.
My wife thinks of me as some sorta masochist for my love of hand splitting wood. Grew up with it being one of my main chores for my grandparents and a catalyst for gaining some of grandpas wisdom.
I used to hand split all the oak I burned, I have a 13 pound head and a fiberglass handle is 36" outside of the head. It splits well. People may say I am crazy or a liar but you can see a spark you hit a piece of oak well.
^^^ Can't say you're crazy. A buddy of mine was driving one night, out in the sticks, when a deer ran out in front of us. He slammed on the brakes but still bumped the deer over in the road. I got out to look at it when it suddenly came to and started scrambling to get away. I'm not kidding .... I saw some sparks from it's hooves on the blacktop. I also learned to be extra careful when approaching a downed deer. The power it exhibited was amazing.
