The best thing i have found for silencing the string is a string stop. There are several avalible.

I second the string stop. They last almost forever and don't add weight to the string. If you want a really nice string stop at an affordable price, get a hold of MeanV (Dan) on here. He custom makes them to fit your bow, in almost any camo pattern and looks like it was put on at the factory. Been using one for 4 years and its still going strong.

I like a combination of both the string stop AND cat whiskers. Can't beat it!

String scilencers are a thing of the past I tend to think. #1 they slow down arrow speed #2 there ugly #3 thers more to fall off #4 they will change the angle of youre peep sight.

A good string stop will not only quieten down youre string but make the bow much more forgiving. a string scilencer will NOT stop the string from bouncing back & forth after the shot causing vibration & slaping youre arm if form is slightly off... A string stop WILL do all that plus make it quieter.

String silencers by Limbsaver would be a great addition. Work great for me.

    My bows:

Heavy arrow, string stop, monkey tails on cable and one just above the cam. Very little/no loss of speed.

I hear monkey tails break ofter 10 shots. I have 2 bow with at least 5000 shots each and have only lost the tip of one. Maybe using a 584 grain arrow helps. I like them, they go on wiith out a press.

I thought Simms string leeches (in the string) change your peep sight, change bow tune, break easily and you need a press. I just don't like something in the string. Cat wiskers are way to heavy and triple in weight with a little rain, so does the taratula silencers I used for years.

X2 MeanV's are what I have used and had great success with. Great company as well.
