Earl Hooker George Thorogood(sp) Duane Allman, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks (They stole from Duane's style basically) Many other old blues players that I have forgotten their names.
[QUOTE=LAEqualizer;174651 Duane Allman, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks (They stole from Duane's style basically) just pointing out my view of this. one could say.... warren haynes and derek truck are the lead guitar players for greg allman and the allman bros band i could only think the songs for them are played like they were written, and in the style of the allman bros band. as did ****ie betts when he was with them. i just seen warren haynes and his band govt mule play last week and he did not play in the allman bros style. also derek trucks has his band also the derek trucks band and it's not in the allman bros style :D
Bingo... NOBODY could touch Duane Allman on slide guitar. He was a master. Others who are really good Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) Derek Trucks George Thorogood Bonnie Raitt
Another vote for Duane Allman. Just the catalog of music he produced in the short time he was on earth. You have to imagine it was just the tip of the iceburg.
any one like the late jeff healey he was a great slide player, i was listening to him tonight and forgot how good he was (R. I. P) He was way to young to go.
