Well went out this evening and didnt see much at all but freakin squirrels. There was 6 of they just having a good ol time at the base of the pine tree i was in. Well they were starting to piss me off because i couldnt hear a d*** thing for the whole time i was sitting.out of desperation cause i was running out of light i hit the grunt call a few times but didnt see anything. Well i waited untill about 5:10 to finally decide to shoot one of them squirrels so i took of my killzone broadhead cause i didnt want to shoot a squirrel with such an expensive broadhead and put on one of my older muzzys. Well i decided that i would go ahead and shoot one when he crawled out infront of me. Well when one of them did i stood up. When i stood up i heard something about 50 yards in front of me move and i didnt really think anything of it because infront of me there was about about 60 yards of trees that have fallen down. Anyway, i waited probably 5 minutes before i drew back on the little guy. When i finally drew back on him i heard a noise that sounded like when a doe stomps her foot. Well sure enough there was a doe 50 yards away from in the middle of some downed trees. Well i switched out my arrow with the arrow that had the nap killzone on it. as soon as i put my killzone arrow on my whisker biscuit she looked at me. i had the other arrow with the muzzy in my left hand while my right hand held my bow. Well i figured the best way for me to get the arrow out of my hands was to drop it when she wont lookin.Well thats what i did and never in a million years would i have thought she would have came my way after all that had happened. She jumped over 6 fallen trees and crawled under 2. Never would i have thought that would happen. I told myself that once she jumped over the last tree i would pullback and wait for her to step out into the path before i would let the arrow fly. Well i put my second pin
(30 yards) on her and let it fly. TURNS OUT SHE WAS 20 YARDS AWAY INSTEAD OF 30:rant::sad:
haha anyway my question for yall is what rangefinder do you believe is the best for the money. haha i thought that my judgement for distance was somewhere near correct but i guess not!Now im not too sure i want to step into the woods wihtout a rangefindfer. Im not really trying to spend over $300 for the rangefinder but am willing to go over $300 if i have to. Any suggestions will help me greatly! thanks guys!

A lot of the bushnell pro staff models are pretty reasonable in price. Shop around on ebay and you can get some good deals. I ended up getting a bushnell golfing model by winning a putt putt competition, but if I had to buy one I would look for one of those.

Nikon. Hands down the best rangefinder for a low budget out there. Faster, more reliable, and more quality than anything else in the price range (Bushnell, Redfield, WGI)

I'm using a Nikon ProStaff3. Cheap but works really well. I got it on sale for $149.

I buy whatever one I can find the cheapest. I got mine for about $120... Some may be better than others buy when you're on a budget with not much to spend anything is better than nothing.

Nikon Rifle hunter. Excellent rangefinder for the bow hunter and gun hunter. Gives you angle compensation in bow mode and will still range out to 1000 yards (I think). I have never used it farther than 300 yards before, so I honestly forget how far it can go. My dad has a Leupold rangefinder and he can range the same object 5 times and get 5 different ranges. Although they are all usually close to each other, when I pay for something this expensive I want a consistent reading every time.

Their scopes have a lifetime. Their binos and spotters have a 25 year no fault warranty. LRF's have a 1 year warranty IIRC.

Vortex is the only rangefinder on the market with a lifetime warranty.
