Love having trust in the business part of my bow, my arrows. I shoot maxima reds 250 grain with rage hypodermic's nothing better than seeing tight groupings and deer on the ground.

Where do you buy a blue brain? Maybe that's why I don't feel advantaged.

I would say two things that help me stay in my stand through the coldest days are King of the Mountain wool and for those truly frigid days, a Heater Body Suit. If you get cold, you start moving around, saying warm and comfortable keeps me quiet and alert...a definite advantage.

Hunting knowledge and persistence can't be bought. You can have all the "best" gear out there but if you don't know when or how to use it, it won't help you put deer on the ground.

Buying gear just makes it more fun. Not very much is actually needed to be successful. I've seen plenty of old timers hunt with a bow 15+ years old from the ground in their work cloths and kill booners.

Never used a heater body suit Rob, but wool cannot be beat as an insulator!

Agreed Heckler, sometimes though the little things make the big difference and give a little more edge to the hunter that can make the difference. All you really need is a loin clothe and a stickbow, but a quiver sure helps hold the arrows, and thermal underwear sure help with warmth, and...

Its all about educating, and learning, and applying that knowledge. If we work on that, and using helpful products to their maximum potential, then that can really give a hunter an advantage. The tough part is uneducated hunters, or the perception that a gadget will override good hunting practices. We should always practice good hunting, stealth, etc. and some products help get us an extra notch higher.

I went on a rut hunt in Montana in 2011. After seeing what the previous year was like, I was extremely worried that the cold would get to me even with my wool gear. I bought the HBS and it was the smartest purchase I have ever made. Me and one other hunter had them and we were the only 2 hunters that stayed on stand all day, every day without issue. We never had a day get above 20 degrees and the coldest day started at -15, we stayed toasty warm in them. It really isn't a gimmick, they work.
