If you can afford it, Stihl makes a pole saw with a mini chain saw on the business end. My neighbor has one and it's a great tool for clearing shooting lanes.

Other than that I have a fiberglass telescoping model. Not sure of the brand name.

Hooyman also makes a large saw that should do the trick.

Only problem with the Dewalt is reach, I saw Todd Printz from whiteknuckle using a neat looking pole saw in "The Dark Side" but couldnt figure out the make.

The one Todd made was his own custom creation. He briefly shows how he made it on one of the webisodes.

This one looks good to me... http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=FM+PKG9B&catID=10492

I have used the Stihl HT 101 pole saw. This thing will change your life, and possibly render your girlfriend obsolete.

You may need three six-packs of Sam Adams and a couple loose women just to balance yourself back out, once you've finished chainsawing. Your pheromones will attract unchaste women for at least three weeks following your use of the saw.

Stihl makes a great pole saw w/ ten foot fiberglass extensions. You can add as many as you want, but it gets a little tough to handle at 30'. I used one for work a lot on the golf course. Get the step up in blades it's worth it if you are going to do a lot of cutting.

Or you could just cut the offending tree down at the base then drag what is left off the trail and angle it in a way to funnel deer closer to your stand.. I just built a brush pile fence a few weeks back runs about 40 yards long and i am sure the deer are going what the hell is this??? at the same time i put a hang on about 25 feet overhead. it's going to be a sweet spot com fall.

I've got my own hand saw coming out later this summer, you can check it out at www.wickedtreegear.com

As far as pole saws are concerned, I make my own right now, and they aren't cheap - and aren't exactly what I want, but they are the best I can do at the moment. In the future, I will be producing a pole pruner. Not sure exactly when that will be, but I'll get it done at some point. For the love of god, someone's got to do it, so it might as well be me.

First step is a hand saw that won't break and is easy to use! Check it out....

Yeah, kind of hard to run and gun with a gas powered chain saw. I'm going to work on getting something out ASAP, but it's a big chunk of change.

When I received "The Dark Side" a few weeks ago, that evening I went out to a buddies camp and I was complaining how all the hand saws for hunting were absolutely junk! The plastic breaks, the blades bend, I seem to always loose the nut that holds the blade, I hardly get one through a single season. That night I sat down to watch the dvd and it was like you read my mind. I can't wait to order one!

Thats the best part about the hooyman.... Its a handsaw and a 5' or 10' which ever you buy.... plus they guarantee you wont break their blade or they will replace for free!
