    Hey Everyone,

Just wondering where the best place to put a trail camera is? Or if you guys have any tips on where to put it, or where you guys put your cameras.

    Thanks

On my bow. Has its down side but it's always pointing where I want to shot and great when stalking.

This year will be my first using the two cams I have. I'm experimenting in my yard now with putting mine up high on the underside of an outward branch. Mine will be on public land so I need to make it as hard as possible to steal.....lock boxes and cables. I figure someone will have to saw the whole branch off to get it......lot of work for a Moultrie M80 I hope

I don't use a trail cam but the old Nikon worked great in both my pack and my pants pocket. I did get picked up on someone's trail cam at a water hole..that was funny. Whoever owns that one put it around a tree though..try that.

Not sure why some think bedding areas are bad for cams. Probably worried about scent and disturbing the deer. Where I hunt there are no ag fields, its all pine wooded ridges with hardwoods in the draws and open prairie. I get many pics in and around bedding areas, bucks and does! Some of my stands are on the down wind side of bedding areas. I've had deer on my cams within a few hours of putting them up. I guess if you only have a small area to hunt then bedding areas maybe wouldn't the best choice. The place I hunt is 8ooo acres, archery only, and no vehicles. I love it! I use trail cams to determine what is in the area not to pattern. So food plots and ponds are my main places to use them.

Right on here. Would like to add to make sure the camera doesn't face east or west or the sun could effect picture taking.

Sweet thanks for the info! I put it just off a heavily used trail and made a little mineral site by it. I had it out for about a week before i made the mini mineral site. I checked how many photos were on it and there were already 170 some odd photos i quickly scanned through them and saw some deer!! :nana: but also what looked like some blanks, or may have been a coon coyote or something i just didn't see in the tiny viewing screen. Im going to pull it out in another week or so and show all of you what i got!! Thanks again for all the info. It helper a lot!! :)
