I just bought a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield in 9mm, and it's a great gun. Very accurate out of the box, and it just feels good in my hand.

I also have a Para Ordnance 14-45, which is quite a bit bigger gun. It's very nice, just too big to carry all the time. What are you going to use the pistol for? Concealed carry? Home defense? Carry in the woods?

They make other pistols other than a 9mm Glock? Wow, who knew?

I love my full size m&p 40.if you go this route you can buy a 9mm barrel and drop it right in without changing anything and shoot 9. only pistol I know of you can do this with. But you can buy a 9mm and drop in a 40 barrel.

Depends on what type of gun you are looking for. Subcompact carry gun, the Sig Sauer P238 is an awesome gun. They also make a P938 9mm which is only slightly larger than the .380 P238. I would say the 9mm is a great all round bullet, but if you are wanting something with pure stopping power, then the .45 would be hard to beat.

I carry a Hi-Point 40s&w. I know cheap amd yada yada. Has never jammed or been cleaned. If size is no worry then nothing beats a ruger blackhawk in 44mag.

I personally carry a S&W M&P .40 compact, holds 10+1 and is very comfortable for me. I am really impressed with their new Shield model too. The Shield is basically the same but more slim. I'm a big fan of .40, but that's just me.

Depends on what you want. Concealed carry, home defense, target shooting? I have a ruger lcp 380 for my ccw. And a 38 special revolver for home defense. If I buy another larger ccw. I'll be looking at Springfield XD and m and p shield.

Glock without a doubt. If your looking for a all around gun to use as a Carry pistol and to go have fun at the range. I would go with a mid size glock. Like the 32c which is what I have in .357 sig. With that model you can buy a .40 barrel an shoot it in the same gun. I love mine.

it will be concealed a lot of the times but home defense too. but also just to shoot for fun when me and the buddies get to together. Ive always wanted a 1911 but its a little too big than what i want i believe. that will have to wait a little longer. What about caliber wise? Ive always heard 9mm is the best all around caliber. My cousin has a 40 and says he loves it. Im kinda stuck on caliber but any caliber will get the job done pretty much i rekon.... any suggestions on that now that yall now it will be used primarily for defense purposes just in case

357 sig ammo is wayyyy to expensive, and near me it is nearly impossible to find.
