I'm going to assume ULCardinal means you're in Northern KY or Southern IN...
I'm not real far north so it should be about the same for you as it is for me.

Last year I experimented with a few different set ups.
I always wore my base layer, helps for wicking away sweat.
I ended up wearing my base layer, then my outer bibs, with my base top and a hooded sweatshirt.
This wasn't ideal because it was rather on the warm side.

This year I'm going to go with my UA base layers, a pair of unlined pants (field and stream in this case) and a fleece top (scent-a-way). If I need to add a middle layer like a windbreaker pant or long sleeve T, I can without getting too warm.
The F&S pant and Scent a way top are my "brand preference", it's just what was on sale and they get the job done.

It's a very odd time of the season for our region, it can get pretty warm during the day but cool off quick in the evening. When early archery starts you can sit out in a T shirt, by the time it ends, there could be snow on the ground. It's best to just try different layters and stuff, however that's what worked for me with the stuff I have.

Depending on the weather and assuming that you have a good base layer (not cotton) and a fleece type mid layer, I prefer something that is water resistant and not to bulky. I prefer this to allow mobility for drawing a bow or shooting a rifle and not feeling restricted.

Some examples would be Toray's Primeflex which provides water repellency, high elasticity, and minimal shrinkage. Materials like this will allow you to hunt in a various type conditions. By changing your base & mid layers you can adapt easily to these changes.

I would say a scent blocker suit... but I do love a brown wool sweater (for good luck).

BEST camo would be Predators poly shirt and pants..... Its like wearing silk and the best camo all at once! I hunt NE Indiana, Central OH, and Central KY every year and this is by far the best camo for early season.
