usually when it comes to movies I say to each their own, but I have to stop this right now: How in the name of all that's Holy did Gangs of New York make it onto this thread twice???? Horrible accents/acting by everyone not named DD Lewis (OK, the big red headed guy that was also in 28 Days was pretty good) and the storyline wasn't even close to original and didn't even bother to have any twists. Insert "You killed my Father; prepare to die" here but in a crappy Irish accent. The only redeeming qualities of GoNY are the violence and the spotlight it put on a historical event that often gets over looked (the race-baited draft riots in NYC during the Civil War.)
I think your just....wrong. Obviously Leo did just fine as Amsterdam Vallon. It was nice seeing Cameron Diaz not act in a stupid romantic comedy role for once. Soundtrack was good. Not what you expect from 1860's period peice by Martin Scorcese. I think the storyline actually played out well. My favorite scene was when Bill Cutting killed the barber. Pretty shocking IMO.
I actually love Lonesome Dove. It's no doubt the best mini-series of all time, followed closely by Band of Brothers.
Dumb & Dumber, Glory Road, Napoleon Dynamite and the National Treasures. Favorite actor is Nicholas Cage
