Truer words have never been spoken............

Full disclosure - I'm on BowTech's Pro Staff and have been for several years. I obviously have no hidden agenda to promote Mathews.

With that said I spent many years working in a Mathews shop and setup and worked on many hundreds of bows in that time before I became part of the BowTech team. Mathews makes a fine bow and out of hundreds of bows I've never seen a Mathews riser have problems unless it was improperly pressed. I've also only seen one Mathews with limb issues and it was due to a dry fire. Every year our demo bows were dryfired multiple times by guys in the shop and 99% of the time there were no issues with the bow at all and when there were issues it was usually only cable or strings that needed replacement. One year (2006 I think?) we had a Switchback XT in the shop that was dry fired around 10 times with literally no damage.

Mathews and most every other manufacturer out there makes a fine bow these days and they are all very reliable these days. 99% of the crap you hear on forums and the internet about bows having problems is either operator error or blatantly false info from people with hidden agendas. Just my opinion.

My favorite from mathews is still my trusty z7x. It just feels right. When they make one I like more, I'll go buy it.

Ha, well I just listed some things that would or could cause the limb break, not the cracked riser. I'm not aware of a lot of things that can cause a cracked riser other than dropping it or rough handling mixed with high draw weight and repetitive shooting...like a lot, maybe a freak flaw. I've heard "stories" of a lot of bows that had cracked risers, limbs, explosions, etc, etc... like Justin said, stories float around about any product and any product does have an occasional flaw. I would be highly surprised if Mathews was told about a cracked riser on any bow and not take notice and try to resolve it though.
